Look what we found today~ Gorgeous Wild Sweet William/Soapwort ~Saponaria officinalis~ 👩🌾 🌸 😊 WHAT A NICE Surprise <3 🛁🌸 Also known as bouncing bet, sweet betty, wild sweet william, bruisewort, farewell summer, dog cloves, old maids’ pink, soap root, latherwort, fuller’s herb, fuller’s grass, foam dock, gill-run-by-the-street, lady-by-the-gate, crow soap + hedge pink + farewell summer. . .
So MANY common names because this plant was a part of everyday life. Soap Making 101 Colonist or Homesteading style before it was trendy to DIY - Our ancestors DID it as a Life Skill. I Love It. It's aromatics are sweet soft and almost Lilac like - it's in the Carnation family. The flowers & tops are what I use - the roots contain more saponins but hardly enough more to make it worthwhile - I prefer capturing the aromatics & the sunshine centers. Soapwort is a perennial European native herb which has become thoroughly naturalized in Canada and grows wild at will usually found near old homesteads and meadows.
Once a very much sought after & revered herb for its beautiful lathering properties and affinity for moisturizing dry skin/sensitive + easing eczema or psoriasis.. From root to flower this is a sudsy flower. It was planted in every medicinal back kitchen door garden. You can use flowers and leaves fresh as body soap~ I infuse these in organic oil for #TheStillroom Herbal Soaps and have available as Dried Soapwort Herb for DIY'ers who love local sourced Botanicals.

Not only is her home and store beautiful but her products smell, taste(tea) feel and look soo beautiful and luxurious. She's so informative, passionate and excited about what she does it makes you leave feeling just as excited as she is to be doing what she loves. Thanks Kelly, until next time!

What a fantastic experience with Kelly at the stillroom shop today. We were welcomed into her home, and it honestly felt like time just stops when you’re there. She was incredibly knowledgeable and honest. We found remedies for our colicky 7 month old, fantastic calming roll on remedies for our older children (8 and 10) as well as amazing teas, lavender pillows and bee pollen( locally sourced which was so important). Visiting Kelly and investing in your families well being is a must!. The drive was so worth it and we can’t wait to visit again soon.

Upon arrival at The Stone House Holistic. I was wrapped in the feelings
of peacefulness, calm, and the warmth. It's like your walking into another world. The smells of all the herbs and lavender. The peacefully chirping birds. The horses just walking about with what looked to be smiles on their faces. The friendly dogs and cat.
If there is a heaven. This has got to be it. Tranquility serene. Your senses erode.
Kelly and Mark not only have a beautiful home. They are two of the most genuine caring people that I have had the honour of knowing for many many years.
The Stillroom grabs at your senses. There are so many different things to see and smell. All of the soaps oils teas etc are made right there.
This place is one that you should make an appointment and see it for yourselves. I guarantee that you will not regret it. ☆☆☆☆☆response / report this review -

Kelly is truly a master of her craft and is so down to earth and lovely. She welcomes you to her stillroom (and home) with open arms and always provides useful information and passionate conversations. Her essential oils are my absolute favourite, and I use quite a bit of her other products as well. Support local!

From the moment Kelly welcomed us into her cozy little farm house I knew we were going to learn a lot about the benifits of herbs and there healing qualities. She greeted us with the aromas of the many herbs she is in the process of drying and preparing for her many herbal oils teas. The aroma is heavenly. My family and I had many questions, Kelly generously shared her knowledge with us. My husband was encouraged to take a walk through the property while Kelly took the time to teach us about the teas and oils we purchasing.
I recommend a visit if you are someone interested in herbal teas, oils, salves!!response / report this review -

I love Stonehouse Holistics. I went and met with Kelly on Saturday. It felt like "coming home". Her still room is lovely and has an awesome energy. Kelly is super knowledgable and really took the time to understand my needs before giving me suggestions to a holistic approach to healing. I will be coming back regularly. If you are thinking about going to check it out then just do it. It's 100% worth it.
