Great beer list. Most of the beers are on tap and they rotate often so you are kept guessing what will be on their current beer menu. Food is alright but a touch overpriced. They have a small cocktail selection and they offer scotch and whiskey. Service can be hit and miss. I do enjoy the ambiance and they don't blare their music stupid loud either but the volume does increase as the night goes on. Would recommend if you want to sample unique and unusual beers. (My friend had a dill beer here once which was surpringly sublime).

Very good variety of beers! I had one that was 10% and very tasty. Great specials, a personal pizza with a side salad for only $9! I went with a group and most of us were happy with our food. It's not anything amazing but it's good pub grub!
It works well for groups because they have lots of tables that are easily joined together.

It's a brew pub with a lineup of craft beers to make the most seasoned brewer go a little misty-eyed. They clean their lines often (unlike most places) and have an impressive (for Vancouver) number of ciders available. The food is decent if not spectacular, like pub food should be. If you're into the sports they have TVs in line of sight.

There was a bit of a wait when I went but it was a Friday night and honestly was only max 20 minutes. It has a great feel to it and it had amazing beer with great food. It was the first bar I went to in Vancouver and albeit the best. And it's reasonably priced too, I miss the city! Recommend a beer paddle whether you're new to beer or quite familiar with it. 😉

I'm here or there on St. Augustine's. Yes, it's approaching institution status in Vancouver as the east-side's best craft beer bar but, there's some downsides. The tasting room itself feels like a Chinese banquet hall restaurant. Just a big open square with a throng of tables in a dark black/grey room. The only ambiance you get is the faint distracting glow of TVs mounted everywhere because, god-forbid you have a pub in Vancouver without 10,000 watts of screens bombarding you at any time. Food is okay. It's serviceable. Nachos are good. Pizza is pretty meh.

Down to the real reason to come, the beer. Yes it's a good to very good tap list. However I feel like they're over compensating on the size of the tap list instead of curating a really good quality list. For example, they'll routinely have 15-20 pale ales and IPAs, how many do you need? I'd prefer a more focused in tap list to highlight various special brews or crowd favourites.

BEER: 60 taps, new beers added almost daily, tap takeovers every other week or so, menu has decent info on the beers, digital system to see amount of each beer remaining (screens or via website), beer flights ("paddles") available. Relatively pricey however.
FOOD: pretty good all around, decent appies, great burger, best nachos in Vancouver (more topping than chips!), Sunday pizza special is a crazy good deal!
STAFF: lots of personality, variety, really fun to chat with, many are Cicerone certified.

St Augs is in between a restaurant, craft beer haven, and sports bar; no place can excel at all 3, but i believe it does well enough that anyone can have a great time here :D

The only bad experience I had here was being greeted and seated. It took 5 waitresses to look at us (and/or walk past us) before anyone even said hi to us. We waited about 2 minutes before this happened and then the hostess showed up and seated us.

Everything after that was great. Our waitress was the perfect amount of attentive. Our food was beyond good.

We ordered: Caesar salad, beet salad, fried pickles and beers. They had a great selection. I will definitely return.

My friends and I went for the Storm Brewing tap takeover and had a great time. It took a while to get a table, but at special events, that's to be expected. Our waitress was insanely busy but very nice, and even though it was crowded, we still had fun and it gave the place a casual atmosphere.

Great if you're into beer or good simple pub fare food.

So many beer choices and AMAZING food!! The yam fries and the nachos here are my favourite. They also do wings nicely. Their deep fried Mac n cheese is delicious but very heavy so I have to share it with others especially if I want to eat anything else. Easily accessible by skytrain! I highly recommend this place!

Love this place. Great beers, always rotating, so it's impossible to get bored. The food is well made and very diverse.They have everything from BAO to Fish and Chips.

Get here. Get drunk. Eat some grub. You won't be disappointed.

My favourite place to get a draft. The beers cycle often (most keg-by-keg), so every week has many new pours. Variety is the spice of beer as they say! Food is great quality for a neighbourhood pub, and the service is never unpersonable.

Wonderful beer selection. I have a giant beard and grey hair and the darling waitress asked for my id. I thought it was a charming touch. I hear the food is pretty good.

I freaking love this place. The staff I've dealt with have been great, and the beers are so tasty. The food is pretty good too. The trick to this place though, go with a small group or make a reservation they're always busy so walking in with a big group won't work out well for you.
