Monday night quiz nights are the best. Went in on a Wednesday and it was like a club. If you don't like clubs don't come on a Wednesday. Mondays is where it's at. Food is a little inconsistent, one week the fish and chips would be awsome and the next mushy. I've pretty much tried everything on the menu at least 4 times.
Part of the Donnelly Group, their food and liquor are in line with their standard fare. Pub-style dining, no real standout dishes, but an ok place to eat and drink.
They have a fun lower section with some video games and pool tables, which makes it an ok place for the beginning of your date.
The lack of windows in the back of this location makes it feel a little claustrophobic, but I'm not sure how they could counter this effectively.
They have good ceasars and good selection of beers. Wednesday nights are too busy and has a college vibe.
It used to be an excellent spot on Wednesday nights, but now with it's popularity, it is simply over crowded on Peak days. When it's not packed I've always had a great time. Especially the Beer Olympics for the past two years have been exceptional.
Been here a few time over the years as a UBC student; its got a nice environment, no wait if you get in early or you could make a reservation on busy nights. They have a nice selection of drinks and the food is relatively good
