The service is excellent; the servers and who I think is the manager were extremely attentive and are active listeners. Sidecar has a spacious (For TO) patio and the whole menu is strong. In fact, Sidecar's patio is one of my favourite patios in the summer. The inside is pretty classy and good for a non casual date. The risotto is fine, but I really like the salmon and seafood linguine. there is nothing fancy or innovative about these dishes, but I feel that they have the right balance of flavours made with quality ingredients. I went with a buddy who only eats grass fed, hormone free etc. beef, and he highly recommends their steaks. Unfortunately, I haven't tried them myself.

Absolutely adore this place. Came here the first time with my boyfriend on one of our first dates and have been coming back ever since. Food was delicious, delightful and flavorful. Beautiful ambience, quiet with jazz music playing at the right volume. Not too busy when I’ve gone, it was always just right. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. It is a no tip place, but we tip anyways because the service was always outstanding and they are always grateful when we insist. I will keep coming back here.

This is a great restaurant. The food is affordably priced, high quality and tasty. The service is even better than the food; courteous, polite and knowledge staff. If you go here you get true value for money, something that is rare these days. I will absolutely come back. Top notch!

Went here on a Wednesday and they had a 3 course meal for $25. The quantity of food wasn't a lot and the food was ok. Not a lot of customers were out on their large patio and it was still hard to get the servers attention who apparently had something more important to do on her phone. Four people eating this 3 course meal with a few drinks was ~ $220 with tax and tip.

Excellent experience for my party of 6. Menu was simple. Food tasted so good and warm 5/5. Portions were on the small though, but was expected. The patio was so nice, felt very secluded and private, despite being downtown. Dessert and Appetizers were on the pricey side, but very well made. Server was very accessible, had some mix-ups with the bill, but server was quick to resolve. Place was packed on a Thursday night. Will definitely go again. I strongly recommend you do reservations.

I really enjoyed our dinner and service there. I was there to celebrate my birthday. I've read everywhere that it's a tips-free place and they are proud to be one. I told all my guests that and when it came time to pay they had a tip option on their debit machine. I felt so awkward cause I already told everyone they won't need to leave tips. I mean i wouldn't mind leaving the tips if it was a regular restaurant. I just don't understand why they make so much effort to advertise tips free policy and then ask for tips.

The patio in the back is great! It is super cute. The food was good. We had a little issue with a cold appetizer however our waiter was wonderful and addressed it immediately. The seafood linguine was delicious and the chocolate terrine is must try.

I have been here so many times I don't know how many. Always delicious, our most favourite plate is the steak and frites. Like most reviews it might be slightly salty. But still incredible. The restaurant made bread is also amazing and their orange juice is freshly squeezed. Too good. Romantic atmosphere, with jazz music usually. 5 star

I knew the drinks were going to be good, but the tight, focused menu was just as great. The food focuses on fundamentals over novelty, but it's impeccably executed. This place is now on my short list for a nice evening meal.

The evening was good. The food is well cooked and tasty, the atmosphere is elegant and the waiters are nice. Here the tips aren't required, the price in the menù already includes them. It's not totally an Italian cousin. It's very good but it isn't exactly an Italian restaurant.

Good food, and an atmosphere that strikes a balance between casual and chic. It's also great to see a restaurant follow a gratuity-included model, which is more fair to the waiters. This is a nice place to go to with a group of friends, and we had good luck reserving on short notice. Though the dishes were well-prepared, nothing stood out. I enjoyed my duck dish, but personally prefer it prepared differently, less rare and easier to chew. Most of the main dishes served at our table were quite small, and it would be easy to leave hungry without a starter or dessert. That said, we had a good time overall.

Great service (happy to hear that they follow a no-gratuity model and encourage them; fair wages for all!!), great presentation of the food.
The lamb shank was a bit overcooked, but still great. Roasted veggies that came with the lamb were great, but the sauce was slightly too salty.
My date really liked his duck pasta.
We didn't drink; looking forward to trying a cocktail another time.

I love the atmosphere of this place - it is very warm and cozy, while being lively at the same time! The food quality is excellent, and everything we have eaten there has been delicious! The reason I am rating it 3 stars is because they took off the two dishes I always ordered when there, which were fantastic - the crab cake appetizer and the seared scallop entree! The menu is now very boring and lacking in seafood options. Just the usual - pasta, steak, chicken, salmon, pork and duck. They did both the crab cakes and scallops so beautifully that it is a huge disappointment they are gone! We used to go here for every anniversary, valentine's or special romantic meal, but for me, sadly, there's no point in going back. Please bring back my crab cakes and seared scallops, Sidecar!!!! 🙁🙁🙁
