The bond between patient and healthcare provider can sometimes be so memorable that the memory of it lasts a lifetime. This guy is starting Grade 1 and in our books he's starting as a Champion! Alec saved up his allowance from chores to donate to help other #ChampionsStartSmall.
From his mom: "Thank you for the opportunity to teach Alec to give back and to be grateful for all those that donated before us so he had the equipment he needed to get strong and healthy."

Sturmay is a name you're going to be hearing a lot of in curling for years to come. We're proud to have Selena Sturmay as a Spirit of Sandra Scholar in 2018-2019. The U of A student has an impressive curling resume and in 2019 she'll join her brother Karsten, a two-time Spirit of Sandra Scholar, in representing Canada.

Our Scholars had the chance to join Chf Manitoba for a tour of the NICU this week. Alexa, Emily, Megan, Lauren, Selena and Sarah saw firsthand the life saving equipment that your donations can help purchase in NICU’s. Our Scholars are excited to be getting back on the ice while balancing school and supporting local initiatives to raise funds to help #ChampionsStartSmall. 🥌 🍼 👩🏻🎓 🇨🇦

Our Spirit of Sandra Scholars are having a great time learning from their mentors Pat and Cathy this week. They‘ve also had a great chat with Brett Gallant. The curlers are meeting this week to learn from two of the best to improve their on and off ice performances. They’ll be sharing experiences and discussing how to find the right balance between 🥌 and 📚👩🏻🎓, along with ideas to give back to their community. 🤝 Pat “Andretti” Simmons is not only a talented curler but a pretty sweet kart driver too! 🏁 🏎

A recent study of parents found 16% of those whose child spent time in a NICU were diagnosed with PTSD. Advances in care can help make time spent in a NICU less traumatic for baby and their family. Help #ChampionsStartSmall and support our mission of funding life saving equipment in NICU's across Canada.
