Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice central location. Could use more toilets. Overall a solid hostel in Banff.

Really friendly and vibrant place to stay. Lots to do with the organised group events and activities each day. Fantastic breakfast for each guest which includes make your own pancakes!

When I first arrived I waited quite a long time to be noticed and helped, and once I was greeted, the woman working wasn't super friendly; just kind of doing her job, which didn't help me feel very welcome as a solo traveler. Once I got to my room, I was happy to see that their 14 bed co-ed dorm was split into a few separate bedrooms once you walk in and that the shower was in the same room. The location wasn't bad either. Banff as a whole is small, but it wasn't too long of a walk to get into town.

The accommodations itself is good and has many features. There is a bar in the lobby Wich is a good place to meet people and have a pint at the end of a day hiking. Had an issue though where they overbooked my room on the first night so had to spend an hour sorting things out and stayed in one spare bed. I would really recommend they assign beds so this doesn't happen. Also due to the bar downstairs it can be a bit loud at night.

Absolutely incredible! It is quite the value for the location and the staff are more informative than most Parks Canada staff. Complementary breakfast was a bonus and the hotel is situated within 10 minutes of any shuttle/greyhound in town. Would stay again.

The samesun is the best hostel in Banff. The rooms are a bit stuffy but each bunk has its own outlet and fan. The free breakfast is good quality and the bar has great prices on food and drinks.

One of the best hostels I've stayed at! Extremely comfortable bed, excellent WiFi, fun staff, many activities organised by the hostel. I really appreciated my stay. It was a bit noisy at first, but if you can fall asleep with some noise, that's perfect. Otherwise, it's only about 5-10 minutes away from the heart of the city, by walk!

Hostel provides beds for many guests but the rest of the facilities is insufficient for the amount of people: The kitchen is way too small and there is only one stove. There were not enough baskets for food storage. There are only two washing machines and two dryers. The breakfast room is for only about 10 people, it was very crowded. Also our bathroom was not cleaned properly: An old earplug of whoever was lying on the floor for three days. However, breakfast was quite good. Beds were comfortable and seemed to be new.

Great location just a few blocks away from the town center. The vibe here is really great with happy people who are even more happy to meet you. Great service in the bar/front desk/etc. The general age group here is around 20-25 I would say so be ready for the rowdy type. Beds are comfortable and water for showers is hot. The kitchen area or common area as they called it was generally clean and they had all the necessities for you to make just about anything with plenty of space on shelves and in the refrigerator for all your food/drink. The only reason I give it one less star is because my room was not ready when they said it would be and also because the rooms and generally the whole building was very very hot, and I was here in March. My dorm was about 80F and the kitchen was the same, this being said I was unable to get a good night of sleep in my two nights here. Overall, I would definitely stay here again so long as they get the heat situation figured out.

I've never stayed in a hostel before so it's a little daunting but the rooms are nice and the beds are super comfy. There's a few rules(like the no food in rooms) that was a bit odd but the rules a probably there for good reason. I wish there was more available parking nearby but nothing can really be done about that and the breakfast was decent. Other than that the place is pretty chill and the staff are very nice.
