"Seeing One" I rather adore making fantastical creatures, especially when they organically emerge from the Otherworld for pals. This one was made with love for my dear bestie and her new wee one. It's filled with life and clear, gentle attentiveness beautiful gifts she's bringing into motherhood.
Shield. quick painting, big feels.
Earth art made by the whole class, and its two day transformation.
5 minutes of precious sunshine through a small break in the clouds yesterday and a beautiful beam landed on the nest I made in the intricate earth art woven by a pal.
New love: collage magnets ❤
My favourite and most personally significant 9 from 2018. It's been a big year indeed, full of new beginnings and I'm so utterly grateful for everyone's love and support! 2018 began with living in my beloved hometown of Parry Sound alongside the gorgeous Georgian Bay. Then, there was no resisting the pull of an opportunity to train in art therapy in the mountains of British Columbia. This year, creating took centre stage. Art making has been profuse, personally potent, and experimentally diverse. Watercolours, embroidery, weaving, gestural drawing, trash monsters and triangles… and so many dragons I’ve lost count. What a year!
Making books ❤
Made a book from scratch. Well, cardboard, newsprint, Harris tweed, yarn, glue and cut outs from a The House of Golden Dreams calendar to be precise. Even had some fun with blackout poetry from an old Shakespeare play. . Dream journal all set for our dream work training at school for the new semester!
Merry Christmas from the mountains! @ Nelson, British Columbia
Love this piece from a year ago. Still rings true. My solstice art looks pretty different this year, pics will be up in the next bit.
Finished my first embroidery attempt! So pleased with how she emerged.
Wove and spun these meself! What a treasure to be taught such things. Procrastinating on art therapy homework . wait. 😉 @ Creston, British Columbia
"I'm no artist," says Granny Dawn as she teaches her niece and I how to weave and shows us all her incredible creations. @ Creston, British Columbia
Visited a fine art gallery full of beautiful creations and this porcelain hag tucked away in the back with the paintbrushes is what catches my eye. . Be sure to visit the fabulous Matheson & Grove Fine Art Gallery if you find yourself in Penticton, BC!
My dad tells me embroidery runs deep in the family. Between genetic memory and muscle memory for dragon making, I'm pretty pleased with the progress of my first attempt so far.
🎶These are a few of my faaaavourite things 🎶my classmates did a round table of drawing gifts for each other. 3 months into art therapy school and I think they know me 😁❤
Absolutely wonderful couple days roadtripping through the mountains and valleys of the BC interior to see what's happening in the arts in the Okanagan.

French toast & embroidery kind of morning.
Snow is falling in these mountains and I find myself wrapped in my green hat and purple scarf once again. Just posted a whack of art from this last year onto my website, for your browsing pleasure, while curled up as our nights grow longer, working our way to the Winter solstice.
