Always an excellent meal - we feel part of Sarah's famiglia. Pizza Neopolitano, seafood, appies, desserts, coffee, baked goods. Everything is fresh and made with love from scratch.

Food was great. What I was really happy with was the servers attitude and their attitudes towards us. Very friendly and caring. I would definitely go back if I get a chance to visit Lantzville.

When you first walk in the door it looks like any other cafe you might see. But when you look to your right you see the restaurant part of the establishment you see it is a small but well appointed restaurant. Food is excellent. The truffle fries are fantastic. The Neopolitan style pizzas are excellent as well. My wife had the lamb shank. She said it was great. Excellent wine selection. Almost every table was reserved when we were there. 5 pm on a Friday. I think that speaks to Riso and its reputation more than what I can say. Highly recommended!

Riso Foods in Lantzville is another culinary gem of the Nanaimo region. It is an excellent bakery and upscale restaurant that is incredibly comfortable to be in. I would imagine this place does a lot of anniversaries. Do make reservations, as they are probably one of the busiest restaurants in the region, and deservedly so. They make an authentic wood fired pizza and have an excellent selection of fine dining choices. They usually have a daily special pizza, appetizers, and main course. My youngest son tried the daily pizza special, while the other one had today's meal special. I had the beef dish, which was a lovely grilled skirt steak with vegetables and a choice of one extra dish. Everything was absolutely superb. For dessert, I had to try their homemade lemon meringue tart which was divine. The service is top shelf. I highly recommend Riso Foods. Magnificent.

the food was excellent, the wait staff lovely. Unfortunately I tried to get through on the phone to make a reservation for an hour but nobody answered. We decided to go anyway and were ignored when we went in.
The hostess was borderline rude and told us we would have to wait for our food and if we didn't want to wait we could go somewhere else.
It was very strange. Once we were seated the rest of the staff were attentive and friendly and as I said the food was excellentresponse / report this review -

Hidden gem, classy ambiance, wonderful service, great food! Everybody should visit at least once! Produce was locally sourced, every bite was flavorful and most delicious. The wine we had was a perfect compliment to our vegan 3/4 course meal. Will definitely go again!

One of the best restaurants on the island. Nice varying selection of west coast / Italian food with a solid list of drinks. A must for locals or visitors.

Always have loved this place. Stopped going for awhile as I was afraid they wouldn't be able to accommodate my vegan diet. I was wrong - they served up a delicious cheese less pizza. Thank you!

Lovely atmosphere. We went for dinner and ordered the lamb. Melt in your mouth delicious! Only complaint was the olive oil which came with the complimentary flat bread at the start of the meal was rancid and tasted quite horrible - very unfortunate.
On another occasion we have had their pizza for lunch and was quite delicious as well.

Everything they do is perfection. The pizza is flawless—my favourite is the arugula and prosciutto. The putanesca is unmatched: creamy texture, salty and complex flavour. Their breads and pastries are really remarkable.
