I took my two cats to Oceanside for their annual vaccinations this year. I was very impressed with this vet clinic. One of my cats is incredibly timid and the staff took the time to make her feel reassured by feeding her treats. etc. And then, on the other hand, my other cat can be quite vicious and I was worried that the staff wouldn't be able to examine and vaccinate her successfully. When I explained about Asha's temperament prior to my appointment, staff were confident they could successfully see her and, to my surprise, they were correct! Dr. McKinlay and Kara were absolutely wonderful with Asha - they were so calm and confident. I will most certainly be returning to Oceanside in the future. You can tell that everyone who works there truly cares about pets and their welfare! Thanks Oceanside :)
Friendly staff, fair prices for the services they provide. However our veterinarian seems scared of our dog. It's frustrating for us because we just want a vet who won't look at the size of our dog and assume he's vicious or unpredictable. We have been continuing to use them as for the most part they're good to us, however if we are continually asked to muzzle our dog and sedate him every time we visit we will definitely be looking for someone else to care for our fur friend.
Money grab
Try to get a simple question answered on the phone? Not a chance! I do not recommend this place. I brought my previous dog hereand left years ago for the exact same reason. I thought i would give them another chance- a mistake on my part. Go aomewhere else. Front end staff have unfriendly annoyed attitudes. What a disappointment.
the staff at Oceanside Animal Hospital are fantastic very caring and Dr Alicia Ashley is very compassionate and is a great doctor we recently lost our golden retriever Odie to cancer after a short illness he was 11 years once again thank you all for your care Mick and Helen
Our small dogs Rocky and Lady are on the Paw Plan, which is a big help. Rocky especially loves to visit his friends here, he's a 6-pound older dog and they keep him feeling good. We love Dr McKinlay and all the staff.
If you are looking for a "care driven" health care provider for your pet this is not the clinic for you. This clinic is clearly "profit driven". My experience was disappointing. I had higher expectations.
We are very happy with the attention we receive when visiting Oceanside Animal Hospital. Over the years we have had a variety of health issues with our Westies and feel very confident with the recommendations and treatments provided.
On a couple of occasions we have been referred to remarkable specialists that we would not otherwise have known about.
Very accommodating, great communicators and very kind and gentle with their fur patients.
We have always been impressed by Oceanside Animal Hospital. We have seen various vets there over the years and our dogs have always received excellent care and attention. It's nice that the clinic always follows up by calling a few days after they've seen our dog to check on any developments, acceptance of the medication etc. Our dog is quite elderly now and I like that the vet is very practical and doesn't suggest "heroic" measures she suggests we use a mild pain medication for his stiff hips rather than putting him through a bunch of stressful (for him) and expensive (for us) tests. Every vet we've met at Oceanside is very kind, gentle, patient, and a good listener.
