Nothing crazy here. Just sophisticated but at times simple dishes done extraordinarily well. Full menu is great, of course, but bar snacks are a great option, a half dozen small plates that aim to please is sometimes all you need -- sliders, tartare, duck tacos, fried chx spicy goodness. Nice! One of my regular stops in the Toronto food landscape

Amazing atmosphere, service & food. Our host Celine was such an amazing host. My two colleagues and I requested non ordinary requests & she handled them all with class. Her service, smile & enthusiam is worth the 5 stars.

Great place for dinner. Food is made very well, service is good and decor is nice. Very big location. Food is great but very safe not very memorable. 30-40 dollars a plate. Should try at least once.

Great pre-ballet dinner. They are very good at keeping you on track so you don't miss your show and the food and service was excellent too. Highly recommend to those looking for a good place to have dinner before the ballet.

Nice ambience. Good for business lunches. The steak of the day was a bit too acidic for my taste. It's really $$ so be prepared to dish out for nice ambience.

I came here for summerlicious 2017. The salad was good and seemed to be made with high quality ingredients, the problem was you could barely taste them because the salad was drenched with vinaigrette that overpowered everything else. Moving on to the entree, I ordered the bun less burger. The burger was okay but nothing spectacular. Since it was made without a bun (as the name suggests) and had bacon on top of the large patty all you could taste was meat. To put it simply, I wouldn't recommend ordering the burger. Lastly we ate dessert. I ordered the strawberry trifle and it was absolutely delicious. Easily the best thing I ate at the restaurant. Overall I think you can enjoy your meal if you know what you like and know what to order. Unfortunately because of the steep price and the huge competition this restaurant falls short of the mark. Hard to recommend eating here. 3/5

I've been here 6 times and have ordered something different each time. I have never been disappointed. I must say, their sea bass is a phenomenal option that you can never go wrong with!
Their desserts are wonderful and ask your server for the right wine pairing- they are usually great with their recommendations!
If you get a chance, sit at the bar it's a great lively little area!

I had a fantastic experience here. My partner and I went for dinner with two friends and we ordered all the staples from the menu as recommended by our absolutely fantastic waiter. He was extremely knowledgeable and had an obvious love for both the food and the restaurant's kitchen. We left, of course, completely satisfied and very happy with our meal. The tuna tartare, the venison and the pudding were most memorable for me. Regardless of the cocktails we ordered throughout he meal, they were all artful and phenomenal. The only qualm I have are the prices - it was definitely a splurge.

    Service
My mood is sour since my entire post got deleted in one button, seriously what is wrong? The guy manning the coat check area should be an actor, and I mean in A+ films. He could be the sidekick to Captain America, that's right he was that gorgeous. My boyfriend could care less. I liked how our waitress was professional and prompt. Sometimes waiters/waitresses try to make conversation when they suck at it, this one knew when to intercept and when to step back. Good job.

    Food
I think I was very lucky or that Nota Bene was THAT GOOD. The clam chowder was a surprise since it didn't come out chunky and thick - on the contrary it's super smooth and presents like a broth. Even though we are drinking something that isn't pureed, all the flavours are present and it was excellent. The entree was HEAVEN. The table beside us ordered the same dish and devoured everything, leaving only bits behind. This is SERIOUSLY one of the best pastas I've had (the bolognese, which I don't see on the menu anymore!). Super moist pasta (not to mention smooth and thin), sauce is on point, the meat was super yummy, and it was damn filling. I can't describe to you how amazing this dish was. Go ahead, order it and disagree with me. I was quite worried that the dessert would disappoint but holy cow it surpassed my expectations. The crunchiness of the apple crumble - YES! Most Winterlicious meals leave me regretting I ever spent $45 or whatever but Nota Bene won me over. My boyfriend's dishes weren't bad as well but I think I ordered the winning combination.

Went there for lunch midweek and I enjoyed the food tremendously. The ceviche was one of the best I've had. The cocktails are very good, well made and good selection.
Service was friendly and polished however it did end up taking an hour to get our main course. Something the manager instantly rectified by comping all our food. An amazing gesture that salvaged the visit. I will return to try dinner one day soon for sure.

Restaurant was easy to find, service was quick and friendly. Cocktails were interesting and were a nice way to start the meal, I had the apple cocktail which delivered on it's promise of apples. I ordered tuna tartare to start and it was pretty standard but still quite delicious. I then had rabbit ragu, rabbit was nice and tender and the sauce was rich and full of flavour. Dessert the table shared the sticky toffee pudding which was good, but the brown butter ice cream that came with it stole the show, and apple crumble which was also nice but nothing special. Overall good meal, would recommend to anyone in the area looking for something nicer.

Incredible food + cocktails. Extremely competent and friendly staff. Food presentation is lovely, they pre-split any shared dishes and present individually plated portions to each guest. Lovely decor. A real pleasure to dine here.
