Great selection for your building needs. They have pretty much everything you'll need to build or renovate a house.
Customer service is hit-and-miss.
Otherwise I'd give 5 stars.

The folks in the tile section are great and have been my go-to for the entire construction of my house. The styles are beautiful. But unless you are getting a trade discount, the prices are higher than a lot of other places. In the main building, there is a new 'take a number' system which has improved service tremendously. But the other commenters are right, customer service is not a priority. My main concern was that things I ordered (such as 16ft lumber, crown molding) were not the length they were supposed to be but several feet shorter. So, that's what has made me go elsewhere, even tho I would like to support a local business. And, as for pricing: it's cheaper at the big box stores, no doubt. I have to say though that my bathroom fixtures are gorgeous and they were all bought at New Canadian, for a lot less than the stores on Caledonia sell them for - and, New Canadian has better quality fixtures.

I believe in second chances, and sadly it was a terrible experience second time around I tried to give them my business. Staff do not seem to care much about serving customers. No product knowledge in the paint department. Wasted my time driving here after being told a particular wheelbarrow was in stock, only to be explained by a sales guy that "we just say 'ya,ya' on the phone because people don't show up anyways."

Great selection and amazing prices, but the staff are a little unskilled and sometimes unfriendly, so just stay on top of them. The system they use for coordinating special orders is outdated and inefficient too, so make sure you note the staff member who helped you and contact them directly.

Everyone seemed to be pawning there job of to the next person. I asked for an of cut of plywood. They say go outside, get it and pay inside. The guy outside says the opposite.

The customer service was just reallllly lacking.

Bought some stone tiles from them. Had at lease one cracked tile in each box. (So check before you leave from there if you don't wanna get upset). So I returned the whole order and got a new batch. Asked what thier return policy were on the tiles if not all were used and was told I would get a full refund cause it's a stocked item. Returned them yesterday and they charged me 50% restocking fee on something they stock, when I was told they wouldn't charge me. Never buying from them again!!

Shopped at this location several times and all visits were bad, but because its close we gave it another chance. Terrible service, unfriendly, unkind, unknowledgeable, rude, throw your invoices at you in discuss, provide the wrong information on you order slips. If you are not happy with your job don’t take it on your paying customers. I think the issue here is the owner’s, perhaps you should hire professional customer services help and get rid of family, friends of family that you have hired who don’t care. Good lumber though. We are never going back.
