I've skied for over 37 years,I lived in Europe and had the opportunity to ski in Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Germany, France, I've also skied from coast to coast in Canada, and various hills in the USA, I will compliment Nakiska and say they operate a world class resort, as far as operations, ski school, parking, rentals , hill maintenance volunteers ,administration (Matt) ,ski patrol, food venue they are second to none,The hill management is amazing at handling snow conditions and expensive snow making when snow is rare. I really enjoy everything about this hill, as season pass holders our family tries to ski and snow board every week , keep up the difficult balancing act and unenviable task of pleasing a fussy retail public in this competitive area of the rockies in the most beautiful part of canada.
It's a great start to the 2017 season the snow is great I've been here a few times already the snow was amazing.
Great Hil and good mix of terrane. No need to go further west
Very good for early season to warm up and get ready for this winter. There is some icy spots that you need to control your speed. I saw some kids fall badly because they go too fast and can't control their speed. Thank you very much Nakiska.
Great place to spend the day or weekend. Friendly staff and always lots to do.
We've brought our kids here for the last couple years, absolute blast to see them be able to progress up the various difficulties.
The new monster glades is an absolute blast! Overall it is a great ski hill and is ideal for families. However, last time I was there the Gold chair going up to the top of the mountain was closed for 2/3 days I skied.
One of my best ski experiences ever. No crowds. Great slopes (good enough for 1988 olympics). I brought my own ski boots as I have large feet, and I experienced a boot blowout that completely destroyed my boot. They gave me free rental boots for the rest of my stay! very friendly and personable staff.
Love this spot! We bring our family from the Edmonton area at least once a year. We love the greens and blues so this hill is perfect for us. We were there on a Monday and had no line ups at all!
We even ate at the concession this year and it was delicious.
me and my two children went on a hike to Troll Falls. I was a nice easy hike and the falls were frozen over, it was a great place for pictures. We also were followed by two deer, they allowed us to take pictures of them. Kids had a great time!
This has been such a convenient (coming from Calgary) learning ski hill for our kids. My 5 year old loves the Monster glades and there is plenty of skiing for my 3 year old. They both love the ski cross course, too. Very affordable, too with the early bird rate. I love what has been done with the magic carpet this year - fun little bumps
It was better than nothing. Not much snow, lots of ice, lots of people. Long lineups and not many run options. The more advanced section of the hill was closed so everyone was forced into the lower lifts. We skied the half-day, and that was more than enough to see the hill. If we had to pay for the full day, there's no way we would have gone - the full day pass is nearly as expensive as the better hills further down west. Nakiska worked for our trip because we were only stopping on the way to BC hills, but I would say that if you have time for better options, go for those instead.
