Absolutely horrible I spent $650 on my parts about 2 months ago, they don't give their customers a heads up if they are closing stores and don't reply to tickets or phone calls like they promise. Now I need to spend more money on going way out to another city just to talk to one of the employees. DO NOT RECCOMEND ANYONE TO BUY STUFF OFF THIS SITE, I'm not that smart with this stuff but just wondering if I don't get a refund on this am I able to sue them or something? I'm lost for words at this point I'm 19 without a job at the moment so $650 is a lot of money for me, someone please help me!?!?
I would give 0 stars if I could. No one picks up the phone. I've called at least 10 times in the last 3 days. You even got me mad at Pocahontas because that is your hold music. I've made tickets. I've requested for a call-me-back with no calls back. Your website advertises you will call me back in 1 hour or I get 500 reward points! Yeah right
I needed a system for a customer and when I decided on all the parts required, i made sure that they were in stock and ordered. Waited and waited no status on parts then went to store to find out what's going on they said there was no stock of any thing. So asked for a refund. I paid in full to NCIX for product never delivered. Trying to get a refund, no one answers the phone or emails.
Can't get through on phone. Eventually passed to a full mailbox.. never with speaking to anyone.. Pocahontas music on loop will drive you insane. vastly understaffed. Closed Coquitlam location but website still says active. After 15 years I too will be taking my business elsewhere. Don't even bother justifying any of these issues. None of this is 'ok'.
I’m out 1650 dollars from NCIX and cannot seem to get refunded. Parts are out of stock and there’s no ETA on completion. Are they going out of business? Anyhow, Better Business Bureau, here I come!
Writing this review for the website/company, not the store staff personally. Ordered a Samsung SSD on September 24th that showed as 'Drop ship in 3-5 days.' Today is October 10th and after a week of being told 'it will be in later this week/this Saturday/this Tuesday' one of the Coquitlam staff finally has the decency to tell me that the company still doesn't have the drive in stock and there is no real ETA.
Thanks for the refund, but I'm never shopping here again. It feels especially bad to say that considering how many computers and parts I bought in the past from your company. Maybe if you don't have an item, you shouldn't advertise it as available or make promises you can't deliver on!
1 star solely for the poor storefront employees who probably have to deal with the fallout and angry customers, 0/5 for your company.
This review is on NCIX's "hassle-free Express Exchange" Warranty, and why I think it's not a good idea.
Buying extended warranty is always a gamble, and if things go smoothly, there's no denying it could be a win.
But quite a few things need to be in place for the product to work as advertised, the key features being
1) Hassle-free
2) Express (Quick)
3) Exchange (Replacement/swap)
-----
They tout the following on the current (July 13, 2017) website as selling points:
"Hassle free".
"Manufacturer warranties can take a while".
"Do prices get cheaper as the years go by?"
"Replacement product of equal value".
And from the Terms and Conditions link at the bottom of the page:
"The warranty service provider reserves the right to repair or replace the Covered Product with a comparable feature model of like kind and quality."
-----
So, say you bought a video card for $250 and it stops working after 2.5 years. What are the odds that card is still in production? And in stock? Basically zero. There is not much hope for an "express" "exchange". If it's headed to the repair shop, assuming parts are even available, where's the "express" in this? Just like what the website intimated, "Manufacturer warranties can take a while", i.e., sending items out for repair takes time.
Their policy in situations when a replacement is not possible, I am told, though nobody so far has been able to point out where this is explicitly stated, is to issue a full credit for the item. This is apparently what "Replacement product of equal value" means: the dollar value. How this jibes with their pitch "Do prices get cheaper as the years go by?" is unclear. Nobody has a magic ball when it comes to predicting future prices. Pricing depends on numerous factors such as the strength of the Canadian dollar, the cost of RAM, etc., so any thought of leveraging the warranty to, in effect, price protect your original purchase is a gamble within a gamble. The dollar value credit you receive will likely not get you "a comparable model of like kind and quality."
I find that last phrase especially ambiguous. If your Radeon card dies, is NCIX stating that they will replace it with a similarly-spec'ed Nvidia?

My particular situation goes something like this.
I bought product 12345-CA-BLACK for $100, along with the 3-year Express Exchange warranty.
The device stops working after 1.5 years, so I take it back to the store.
12345-CA-BLACK is no longer available.
What is still available from the manufacturer are:
12345-CA-BROWN
12345-CA-BLUE
12345-CA-WHITE
Same features, same specs, different only in colour. In other words, "a comparable feature model of like kind and quality".
But no, the store refuses to replace the device because the price had gone up to $140 and the part number is different. Note: the refusal was at the NCIX level and not by the third-party insurer, as far as I can tell.
NCIX did offer to exchange the device with another currently-priced at $100 device from the same manufacturer, to which I said no. The manager told me to do some research as to what the differences were in the feature-sets and to get back to him. Really? To go from a higher model to a lower one? Well, I did the research anyway: the lower model has no noise cancellation, no 7.1 virtual support, etc.
I did not take the $100 credit because I didn't want to fork out another $40 to buy back what I feel should be covered under the warranty.

To make a long story short (and my own story is still pending resolution), my experience has been nothing but a hassle, it wasn't "express", and there has been no "exchange".
If you're banking on your device breaking down while it is still in production [with the EXACT same part number], and NCIX having it in stock at that time, then consider the warranty. But, at least with computer technology, three years is a hell of a long time for a product to be still around.
For the above reasons, I recommend skipping the extended warranty.
Moreover, NCIX needs to be more clear and explicit about their terms.
No one picks up the phone at NCIX. Called all the phone numbers, none of them pick up.
Can't price match online anymore, so I went to their store to try to price match something. Turns out, they only price match local retailers so places like Amazon and Newegg cannot be price matched, which essentially eliminates the majority of stores.
What's the point of price matching then?
I'm not even asking for a price BEAT.
I ended up not buying anything and if it weren't for the gift cards I have, I would NEVER shop at NCIX, not only for the reasons mentioned above.
Waited 45 minutes on hold to ask about a part of my order that was unaccounted for, he said he would ask his manager and call back (odd?). This was 1 hour from closing on a Friday, he didn't call back and now I have to wait until Monday to try again. Words can not describe how furious I am right now.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS RETAILER!
I normally buy from Amazon.ca for most of my online purchases, because it is a consistent good experience, but thought I would support this Canadian retailer. Placed an order online and received an order confirmation. 3 weeks goes by and I still haven't received my order. I'm getting frustrated because I ordered it a to arrive in time for a family vacation. Then Iget an email saying that my order was cancelled as I didn't pay for my order. Umm My order was paid for upon checkout. I called the company directly on July 4th at 9:13am and spoke to the rudest customer service agent (Ging or Jing?). Twice I had to say "hello" to make sure he was still there. He just simply said "your order was cancelled since you didn't pay for it" and didn't offer any other solutions. Won't shop here again!
Ordered a ASUS Gtx 1080 ti strix 10 days ago when I order it it's showing in stock. I Even checked the real time inventory. Cancelled my pre-order from mikes computer. Waiting for my new card at home.
No shipping info after 5 days. Called customer service so many times finally they told me they will receive it by 10th of April. now it's 12th of April they told me it's gonna be another week. They also Can't promise if there will be any further delay either. Good job NCIX.
By the way the average waiting time for the phone call is about 15-20 mins and you will be so lucky if you pick up your call.
Fastest I have ever picked up a package from a NCIX, it was only me I'm there. Ordered in the morning and picked it up at the location by afternoon
5 months later, still waiting on an RMA and cust service just gives me the run around. Useless support team once they have to liaise with manufacturers. Honestly, use Newegg.ca or tigerdirect.ca because Ncix has gone downhill. RMA# 453329, since October and counting.
This is warehouse for pickup web order or else, parking is limit and just one staff serve you there if he or she helping customer at the back you will need to wait a while.. A while..
I'm a fan of NCIX as a company, but they ship through UPS and because of that, I don't think I will ever use their online store again after my most recent experience. actually getting hold of my package through UPS cost me over 30$ and 4 hours of frustration on the phone. If I'd known NCIX would use UPS to ship, I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. If NCIX used any other service to ship their products, I would immediately update this to 5 stars.
I think the argument could be made that it isn't NCIX's fault, but when the overall experience sucks because of a choice they make, I find it hard to give a better rating.
