Went here to go get a cheap and nice balayage. I went at the time they opened and they took me in right away. Even though a hairstyling student did my hair, there was a teacher watching and helping out the students to make sure there doing a good job, and the student did a great job. The balayage took 3 hours to do, but it was worth it. I've only been to this salon once, but I will come back here again soon. The results at the end turned out great, and I liked how the highlights turned out.

Amazing experience at Marca College! I came in super last minute as I was going away the next day! Lily and Nela were incredible, they completely transformed my hair with the utmost care and professionalism! Thank you so much, my family loved my “new look”!

I had the best experience here at Marca College! My stylist Lily did an amazing job on my colour, cut and style. She’s one of the part time night students there and I’m so in love with her work, in one day it has already received so many well deserved compliments. I highly recommend her, she is extremely talented and I promise you won’t be disappointed. I’ve gone to many super high end salons and have never left completely satisfied but all that changed the minute I stepped in here. Her teacher Nela is a lovely, very skilled woman and ensures her students are delivering nothing but quality service as well as results. She was there every step of the way and providing feedback as well as instructions to her students. It was past close and they were so determined to ensure my hair was looking its best before I left that I had 4 wonderful students all pitching in to help comb and blow dry my hair. I’ve never felt so pampered before! They really take care of you here and strive to give you the best results while making your experience here unforgettable.

Great haircut and blow dry. The student cutting my hair was so shy and nervous, but he really listened to his instructor and he did an awesome job. Took way longer than I expected but you can't beat the price!
I'll definitely be back.

Wowee I am glad I didn’t read the reviews before going here I would never have come 😂
I have been box dying my hair red for 9 years and decided it was time for a change. I’ve been terrified of bleaching my hair in case I fried it and had to cut it short again.
I wanted to dye it purple and the head-honcho instructor dude said it wouldn’t really be possible since even with bleach the red was holding onto my hair. Ended up going a copper ish blonde which I’m in love with and my hair feels totally fine not fried at all 😍.
The girl (Danielle?) was super nice throughout the whole thing and I’m very pleased with the end result she got in my hair.
The only constructive comment I could really add is to have students watch the way they speak in front of clients. Some chatter felt slightly less than professional but overall at the end product and cost I can’t complain.
That’s the other thing the cost is amazing and I guess it’s because you’re rolling the dice with which student you get but hey it’s cheap :)response / report this review -

Asked to go lighter without doing complete damage to already bleached box dyed hair, they handled it pretty well. Two people worked on my hair and the had the lead stylist watching their progress, which was both good in that it was fast but not so good in that one side of my hair was bleached ever so slightly different than the other (bc again, two different people)

Mississauga Campus Students are incompetent and just look at the Customer as a Necessary Evil to pass their Course. Front Counter girl is RUDE - Good Luck finding work after YOU graduate with that Piss-Poor Attitude ! Keep chain-smoking your NATIVE smokes outside the front entrance while lamenting about your poor job prospects ! I'M taking my $$$$ down the road to LE SALON SPA & NAILS @ 6-1170 Burnhamthorpe Rd.West !!!

I was a student attended the dufferin location two years ago
The school was very difficult for a young guy who just wanted to be a barber..
You have to do perms and all other services I did not like.
They have a barbering course (mrjay) the best barber instructor inn the business
I am so proud to hear that they are now specializing in the barbering program
It was such an important part of my growth as a teenager not knowing what to do

Marca College at Dufferin Mall is simply the worst place to get a hair cut. This is the second time I went there and they messed up my hair. 2015 I had gone in to cut my hair in layers and put red color in my hair. I got the layers but ended up with a baby pink color in my hair. Yesterday I went bk with my mom who was gonna get her hair cut to. My mom told the girl she doesn't want her hair cut to short and she would like it in layers. The girl jus trimmed the end of her hair and she still didn't get her layers. I had long hair. I told the girl I want in in layers, keep the lenght and thin it down coz my hair is to thick. I ended up with extremely short hair ( shoulder lenght ) it wasn't thinned down and I don't kno what style this is but it isn't layers. She gave me bangs and it was so short it was jus spikey and standing straight up in the air. That's how short it was. The Supervisor or teacher ( who ever he is ) came and checked it and told her everything was done wrong. No one apologized. I had to wait one hour for a hair cut coz they said 13 people stayed home and only 5 employees came out to work. And I ended up with crap. I was so embarrassed while goin home coz everyone kept starring at me. Now I'm afraid to go bk out until my bangs grow bk. If these girls don't know how to cut hair y are they out there. Once someone hair is messed up it cannot be fixed until it grows bk. Now what If I had to go out today like to a wedding or special function. What would I have done. Its my fault. After my experience bk in 2015 with the color I never should have gone bk. U people suck. I'll never come bk and will never recommend ur place to anyone. And there is a lady there who wears an apron with EMPIRE written on it. She needs to learn how to speak to people. She has no manners.

I came here almost about a month ago. I wanted to dye my hair brownish red and a trim. I got a girl whose name is Alicia-Marie. The colouring job was okay but the red has fully came out so it didn't really last long. When it came to the hair cutting I told her to keep my length but just trim my layers so they are a little shorter. She didn't even ask me how much she should cut off she just started and ended up cutting off 2 in a half inches. I was so mad and upset.As a hairdresser its really important to ask your client how much they want to be cut off she didn't even ask me anything and started cutting. She ended off by saying its a great change. I never wanted my hair to be short. I went from having super long hair to short hair, there we no apologizes she just said "oh it will grow back." Im very unhappy with the service I got I would never recommend this place to anyone ever. Please avoid this place unless you want an unprofessional haircut where they basically do whatever they want. Im extremely upset and sad.
