Comfortable spacious modern coffee and snack shop. Enjoy fireplace in the winter. Great selection. Perfect for catching up with Wi-Fi when here on vacation.

I think this would be my local haunt if I lived on Gabriola. Great coffee in a lovely cafe space. Really enjoyed my latte, and had yummy house made granola with yogurt. Whole group of 4 really enjoyed our stop in to fuel up.

Every time I come to Gabriola I have to get a coffee from Mad Rona’s. The location is perfect as it is close to the market center of the community and ferry terminal. Lots of parking available including handicap spaces.

Inside there is lots of room to sit. Choose by the fire to be cozy or sit at the large communal table as it is a cool designed piece with swing out chairs. Outside has a great patio area with nice landscaping and trees. There is a cool awning design for hot sunny days.

The usual coffee selection that you would expect of a quality cafe. My last visit I had their homemade Nanaimo bars which were so good, definitely get one of you want something sweet. Their wraps are also fresh and tasty if you are feeling hungry.

Kind of hard to find the entrance to get into the place.Perhaps for locals only. The decor in the place is nice with big wooden tables. Big doors open for some summer air.Kind of silly to designate what time of day to eat, breakfast dinner or supper, then cut then menus off because it’s not your time of day.

Best Latte I've had west of Vancouver thus far. Really nice spot and the morning glory muffins were delicious. Early open is a bonus!

Not clean. Expensive. Very good falafel sandwich. Coffee is mediocre.

The paninis were more like toasted sandwiches but they were absolutely delicious!! One of the best cafe foods I have ever had, generous fresh fillings with crunchy bread, price was reasonable, so happy! Mango smoothie was super delicious too. 10/10

Best breakfast on the island! Nice and close to the ferry too. Would be great if you would serve breakfast to the last 5 people in line at 1131. The cutoff is arbitrary, just make your customers happy!

Love this place. People and food are amazing. The baked goods.. wow. I do wish they would keep it a touch warmer in the winter. I hate having to keep my parka on inside.

Have been going here for about a year now. Bought a sandwich for my wife the other day and brought it home. She was starving and even so was only able to choke half of it down due to the horrible burnt taste. Was busy the next day but returned to sandwich the following day to be told "it doesn't look very burnt". There aren't many places to go for sandwiches on Gabe but I won't be going here again.
