Older hotel but have the most friendly professional staff. They also try to give you the best rates around. We will definitely come back:)
Bed was comfortable. Leaky faucet in tub. Blue stains in tub and sink. Ironing board did not stay up. Location is pretty good though. Walking distance to everywhere.
The room was inexpensive, close to downtown, had A/C, wifi and had very comfortable beds and pillows. Was perfect for what we needed before we started the West Coast Trail.
After reading some scary reviews, we weren't sure what to expect but the only thing we noticed was a little hair in the bathtub drain. The rest of the place was clean, a little old and used, but clean.
I gave this hotel 4 stars, not because it's a 4 star hotel but my experience was 4/5.
Good for the price. Convenient location and friendly staff. Very clean. The bed was extremely firm; I probably wouldn't stay here again just because I found the bed to be very uncomfortable. Other than that, it's a good hotel on a budget.
To be fair: You don't expect much from such a cheap Hotel and it actually has one big plus: the location. It's close to downtown and most things are in walking distance.
I usually don't write reviews but I had to this time. I like to go hiking and I'm used to dirty environments. I'm not a "fancy" person and my furniture at home is standard. I'm a standard guy with standard expectations. I'm okay with a lot, but when the place is dirty like an abandoned WW2 bunker (which would actually be cool) I'm definitely out.
If you're an human being: stay away from this place! Insects, mold, dust and dirty socks are more than welcome!
Clean room, definitely older but didn't expect much. Drinks were $2 for a can of pop from the machine (but I was lazy so I bought some anyway). Staff was very nice and helpful, plus they had underground secure parking.. but you have to move your car between 8am-5pm as it is reserved in the secure parking lot for that time
TL;DR: friendly staff, but otherwise stay far away, even had a homocide while we stayed!
Phoned beforehand to get a baby crib for our room, told they had lots, and "I'll take a note"; get there they have none at all.
Room was clean, and very antiqued. shower didn't work properly (stuck partway between shower & bath setting). Single pane windows and bad soundproofing around the AC means you hear the major street outside very loudly, all night. CRT TV still was unused.
To cap it off, on the second night, we were awoken by screaming at 2am, because there was a domestic disturbance turned homicide on the floor above us, opposite side of the hotel.
Staff very friendly despite the language barriers, but that's about all it really has going for it.
Rooms were clean. Cheap price. One room smelled a lot like perfume. Other had more fresh air with with the balcony.
Still. Patrick's day is not a great night to be in a hotel near where there are bars. There was a fair amount of background noise. The television is a tube with RCA connectors. The lobby computer seemed to have some issues. The elevator is oddly placed, we initially didn't find it. King sized beds and decent sized table in the room. No smell of smoke in the rooms. The primary lock on the balcony door was broken, the secondary was fine. Small fridge in room.
Management make this place wonderful! Ferris is an amazing person, compassionate and all his staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, some more updated than others. It's a modest inn, not too fancy but nothing to put your nose up at. It's clean, non smoking and no bugs. The location is perfect. It's close to everything. The price is right for the location and service you get!
