Paid a little bit extra for a bigger room, well worth it. It came with a fireplace, a jetted tub, and faced the courtyard, so it was nice and quiet. The bed was warm, soft, and very comfortable. Only minor problem was that the hot water would run low at times. But overall we had a great stay there.

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room. The hotel is quaint, has some character, and has some definite potential. It definitely needs some updating throughout the property and the continental breakfast needs some improvement. The beds are not that comfortable and definitely not a standard queen. Felt small. Good for one night. The big positive is its great location.

Very old hotel &furniture like grandma style, completely not modern hotel but very clean in the room: I mean bathtub, toilet and sinks was very clean and shining, but I can not bear the old smell in the room, it's was terrible,
breakfast was ok , I mean normal- (but the same food every morning), hallway witch going to the cafeteria terribly dirty like not vacuuming whole year, all hotel was smelled like grandma very old house, It was not pleasant to coming back from the outside because bad smell, I think for such an old hotel with such funny & cheap furniture this is a very high Price! I'll never come back here again !!! Located exactly in downtown center between many restaurants and bars, so very much noise until 2am I could not sleep cause on the street were shouts and noise, we are stay on the 4th floor and it's was loud

Classic bureaucracy - my wife booked a room using my account but with HER credit card. The lady in the desk refused to check them in because she is not me! She even presented the paper print-out of the online booking to no avail. Kept my wife and 10 yo kid out in the lobby for 1.5 hours until 1030pm ! She was almost in tears as she desperately tried to contact me to get my picture ID sent over! I know about having to follows rules but whatever happened to common sense and some empathy? Especially in the business centered on hospitality?

Really cute hotel in a really convenient location. Staff were really nice and helpful. The bed in our room was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in.

Well placed, "quaint" rooms. Basic amenities, but it's the oldest hotel in Victoria so what do you expect?

We booked a Deluxe Jacuzzi room at the Bedford Regency for our 5 day stay. The price and location can't be beat. We were right downtown and only a couple blocks from the waterfront. The hotel is an older building and the rooms are on the smaller side but that was fine for us as we didn't really plan to hang out in the room.

The negatives to the Bedford Regency was that there were mice in the room (saw one running around the floor one night) as well as in the lobby. Our friends that we traveled with also had mice in their room. I understand that it's an older building but I feel like management took the attitude of "well there's nothing we can do, too bad".

The shower head also needed to be cleaned / replaced as only about half of it worked. The water pressure was pretty sad as well. Finally, the water temperature fluctuated quite a bit and would go from scalding to ice cold just while standing under the shower head.

Overall this is a no-frills place, good location, good price but needs a bit of updating.

We stayed at the Bedford for a night and attended a function nearby. The check in and out process was smooth and all staff were great. The rooms are a bit small but definitely unique, although I'd prefer my sink in the bathroom we did enjoy our stay.

Loved, loved, loved our stay here!! This hotel is a wonderful historical gem! It's clean and well kept up yet I felt like I had taken a step back in time. They have made every effort to provide modern amenities (a/c, mini fridge.) The location is great, walking distance from the ferry terminal and centrally located to lots of things to do. Overall great stay and will be staying every time I come to Victoria.
