Hello Fish friends. Unfortunately due to poor fishing conditions we will not be attending the Meaford Farmers’ Market tomorrow. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience but really don’t have anything to take away from the store. See you next week Meaford! Hello Everyone! We have done it again. We overstocked delicious Georgian Bay Lake Trout. For a limited time we will be offering 10 lb. cases of Trout for the crazy price of $80.00. They are available in 8oz portions (recommended serving size) or vacuum packed fillets. We also have 15 lb. cases for $120.00. Come and get some while supplies last! 🐟🐠🐠🐠🦈💥

Hi Everyone! It's a lovely hot and summer August Friday: a perfect beginning to the long weekend!
You can find us this afternoon at the Meaford Farmers' Market and tomorrow morning at the Owen Sound Farmers' Market with all kinds of meat without feet! Shop local and get everything you need for a great fish feast at both markets!
We're also open all weekend, including Monday, from 9-5:30 in Wiarton. Stop by to grab something for the barbeque!
We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend, especially if you're lucky enough to be on the peninsula!

Filleting a fish is sometimes harder than it looks! Why not pick up fillets ready to go (and deboned as well!) if you feel like any of the folks in this video!
Meat without feet is a great choice for the barbecue this weekend!

Today I would like to take a moment and thank our staff for all their hard work. We have a lot of new faces at the Fish shop ( and old ones as well). Regardless, I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work and great attitude. What seems like never ending towers of fish totes, goo and the daily grind is our everyday reality. Thanks to the great (and fun) personalities we have at the store it makes all the days fun and enjoyable. So please feel free to come and see our great staff at the shop, at the Meaford Farmers Market or the Owen Sound Farmers Market and I guarantee you’ll get the best fish and service possible. For the record we also have tons of every kind of fresh fish right now. But please order up for markets.🐠🐟🐠

Hello Everyone! It has happened. We have a ton of local lake trout in fresh off the boats! We also have a ton of perch. Also this week we have rainbow trout, salmon, pickerel, whitefish, and sea scallops. If you would like something special for either the Meaford Farmers’ Market or the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market please call the shop to place an order. However, please note that we don’t take orders for pick up in Wiarton: we run the shop on a first come first served basis due to the volume of awesome people coming through the door. Hello Everyone! During the extreme heat and wind fishing is poor. We would love to have fresh fish all the time, however with an amazing fresh local product we do need Mother Nature to co-operate. We assure there is no shortage of fish, like us they are seeking cooler waters to beat the heat and are just a bit tricky to find. We will find the mother load again soon. Currently we have great farmed Fish which is hormone and antibiotic free. Also some great fresh stuff from Lake Erie. We will always do our best to get you the best quality product we can and try our hardest to keep our counter full of great local product. Thank you everyone for your patience and patronage. Hello Everyone! Thank you so much for emails and kind words over the past day. I assure you every e mail was read aloud at the chamber meeting and we were overwhelmed with the kind words everyone had for our family and business. It looks like the fish and chips addition to our business is a go! There are a few more things we have to do but it’s on our end. The variance change will take place late July or August so we won’t be in full swing with the take away until next season. This will give us time to make sure things are perfect for you. Love Howell’s Fish. We first discovered it about 11 years ago when we summered in Wiarton. Howell’s Fish was a couple of blocks away and we would walk over to get some amazing fresh fish or smoked whitefish. I have never been disappointed in the fish at Howell’s . Great service, great fish. I am a huge fan!!!
