What. A. Weekend. 🌟🦄🇨🇦 There's so much to say about the past two days; the lessons, the people, the horses all made this an incredible clinic. But for now sleep wins over typing, so you'll have to stay tuned. But thank you everyone for making this such a great experience!

It was an incredible first day with Lendon Gray and Dressage4kids! We saw lots of improvements and outstanding effort from all riders. Lendon was as expected: demanding and precise, but helpful and encouraging with riders from many different levels. What an incredible asset Lendon is to the dressage world! Our lectures were also very special, with Wendy Christoff and Susan Holtby coming from BC to talk about the Rising Stars Youth Dressage program. Patricia Da Silva from Heels Down Media came all the way from Quebec and gave a great presentation in marketing and sponsorship! Thank you to Lendon, all the riders and their magnificent horses, our generous speakers, to the auditors, our sponsors and supporters. Looking forward to day two! I had a wonderful ride on Sammy in preparation for our lecture on cross training with cavaletti Sunday morning for the Lendon Gray and Dressage4kids TEAM Program clinic! We expect to start welcoming riders this afternoon at Canadiana Equestrian Centre for this weekend's event, I can't wait to meet everyone and learn together!

Godot SSF and Jabam SSF have a meet and greet! I am so excited about for year old Jabam, he has a very generous character, just like Sammy (Godot). I am fortunate to have a few spectacular young horses of my own and in partnerships, to develop for the future! Scot Tolman

Here is our good girl Ruffles in her Third Level test at the show! I just love this little powerhouse so much. Every time I sit on her I believe that this is an outstanding upper level horse waiting to happen. She may not have the leg flinging gaits that get monster scores at the lower levels, but she shows so much ability to collect on her powerful hind end, and the quickness that you need for the difficult work. If you are on the hunt for an upper level horse in a small package, this mare could be your superstar!

FANTASTIC outing today at Sparkle & Spurs Gold Show with Ruffles and Sammy! For all of us it was the first show since Florida, and my first show in Alberta after 16 years.🇨🇦 I couldn't be more pleased with the horses, two tests and two first place ribbons👌🦄. Ruffles showed a huge improvement in a clean Third level, test 1, really letting me ride her. And what can I say about Sammy that I haven't said 1000 times already? In his second attempt at Prix St. George he delivered a convincing win with 73.088%. He's just seven, so ridiculously happy in the work, and it really shows.💖 I just can't believe this horse! Scot Tolman, I wish you could have seen him! Thank you Dalyce Gagnon for getting up at an offensive hour to help me today! 🥂 Thank you Le Tack Truck & Devoucoux for keeping my horses and I outfitted properly! Leanne M. Binetruy Laura Heaton

#TuesdayTip: If you're signed up for my emails, you're one step ahead already. For those who haven't read yet, we're going to talk Show Prep in the coming weeks.
Preparation is the most important ingredient to success at any show - and it all starts way ahead of time, even before you submit the entries. But let's say you're here, you're ready to hit "enter" on the formwhat next?
When entering a horse show, it is advised to compete one level lower than you are training; if your horse is schooling second level, compete at first. Regardless of how many times you say, “I don’t get show nerves,” you probably do. I do! The day I stop getting show nerves is the day I will quit competing. There are so many unknown and unexpected factors that can come in to play at a show, so keep it a little easier by showing a level down from what you’re training to give your horse – and yourself – confidence and a good experience.

Lendon Gray is coming to the Calgary area to do a Dressage4Kids TEAM clinic on September 22 and 23, 2018.
This ticket is for auditing. Auditing includes the opportunity to watch all lessons, attend the four lectures, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
You must purchase one auditing ticket per day. Tickets are available for a reduced cost for youth that are members of the D4K TEAM program, but are not riding in this clinic.

#ThrowbackThursday to little 3-year-old Sammy (Godot SSF)!
I am a firm believer that the trainer who starts young horses has a HUGE responsibility. It is his or her job to give the horses confidence and build their trust so that the next steps of their training can be as easy as possible. For me it doesn't matter whether it's English or Western tack you put on, but that it is put on safely and with a long term plan for the horse in mind. How many of you start your own horses?

she comes out to Kelowna BC and her Clinics fill up as soon as the dates are posted. And her last lesson of the clinic is as fresh and informative as her first. What is said over and over again is every lesson is specific to the horse and rider in the ring! You know you are not going to get someone elses lesson! We love her and wish she was closer

Erien is an amazing trainer! I have been riding with her for over a year. Every lesson I learn so much. I feel more confident in my riding and, more prepared for the show ring. My horses have also excelled in her training program.
