Service was REALLY slow.

Wanted to grab a quick bite with a big group and they seated us right away except the booth was made for probably 8 people maximum.

They said they had a group that was about to leave and we would be moving there once they had the table prepped. We waited for half an hour. We then threatened to leave and they insisted we order and when the food comes the table would be ready.

Surely enough we get our food before we get seated at our table. We had to wait another 15 minutes to finally get seated. And to add, we had to move our food ourselves.

We immediately asked for our bill and that did not come for another half an hour and of course with a big group “the computer automatically adds gratuity”

Decent place with good food but service needs to be better.

I don't get how difficult is to find a place where sushi rolls are made properly. This was not the case, but definitely were better than most of the places I've been in Vancouver. Drinks were awesome tho

Went here with a fairly large group of friends and had a good experience overall. For one, this place does accommodate large groups, which is a plus. There's a wide array of drink options available, including some pretty good shot deals. Didn't eat too much here, but what I did was pretty tasty.

This place should have a higher rating. Great bar atmosphere, good service and food. I came here with my girlfriend last night had a great time. Only thing I would suggest is staff should lay off a little seemed like they were stopping by every 2 mins to check up on us. Mango smoked salmon roll was veru good.

Ebisu is a popular and somewhat trendy Japanese restaurant that is a bit of an establishment on the Robson strip. I left the restaurant full - that's about all I can positively say about this restaurant.
The restaurant itself was very loud even though it didn't appear as if many people were in the restaurant at the time. The service acceptable, though we had to ask for napkins, the food came at funny times and the bill was never presented to us. The food was edible. The pork tonkatsu was totally soggy, which was surprising for a deep fried dish, and it also lacked the poached egg mentioned on the menu. The Vancouver roll was incredibly dry, and I was surprised by the lack of the ginger garnish. The spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls were passable.

This is great Japanese restaurant/bar that has its own unique character. The food is an interesting mix of sushi and Japanese specialties, with some fusion options and modernized dishes.

The ambiance is clean and professional but with Japanese style. Staff are always friendly and cheerful.

I think where Ebisu really shines is the drink specials. They have reasonably priced shots (4 for $20), a large selection of sake, beer, and cocktails. Combine this with some friends or co-workers, order a bunch of dishes to share, and you've got yourself a party.

Food is mediocre at best and takes a long time to come out. Prices are higher than other places with better food. Do yourself a favor and spend your time and money elsewhere!

Super pleasant, super affordable, great staff and good choice. The food's enjoyable but I wouldn't say it's the best sushi in Vancouver. It's a fun locale tho!

The cocktails such as sangria, sex on the beach, and their long Island iced tea were standard and tasty. I went on a Thursday where they had a deal on the Sangria pitchers. Their fried chicken is a good portion for the price and they had good service too. We stayed for over 6 hours (through two happy hours) and can attest to how many times they helped refill our water and take away our empty plates. However, their happy hour sushi is nothing to rave about, and neither is their spicy tuna bowl. The tuna was kind of mushy and not that fresh. The location of Ebisu is very convenient to get to, just off Bute and Robson and their selection of drinks makes it worth it to check out though!
