I took my beloved cat here to be euthanized today (Monday). They were able to book us this appt quickly with the focus on relieving suffering. The Dewdney team were professional and proficient. I felt that we were well cared for.
We are not clients here. My own Vet office that I have been going to for over 10 years could not/would not fit us in until Wednesday late afternoon. So I was so grateful that the Dewdney team was able to help us out.
Thank you. ❤️
Dr Walton and staff are just lovely! Very knowledgeable and always willing to answer my exotics questions. They also do so much to help animal charities 💜
Dr. Walton seems to be more interested in self promotion and profits than in helping animals. He no longer has time to help the rescued animals from the SPCA. Shame on you! This used to be a great clinic with a social conscience. Sadly this is no longer the case.
I brought my dog there after she had a seizure. He was the closest vet and to me it was an emergency. He was very nonchalant about it. Told me to just make sure she doesnt drive. Also asked me if I gave her pot, why the hell would I do that? She also had an ongoing ear infection but when he "examined" her he didn't even insert the instrument into her ear, it was pointing at the wall, she was moving around and I guess it was too much trouble for him so he pretended to take a look and said no problem here. His mind was not there at all, kept looking at the clock cause it was close to lunch time. I took her to another vet who diagnosed an ear infection and actually scolded me for letting it get so bad. He treated her and it cleared up in a few days. As for the seizure he so casually dismissed as nothing to worry about, it turned out that my little girl had a brain tumor. I just lost my best friend today after driving all the way to Saskatoon for radiation treatment. Words cant describe how devastated I am and I have so much guilt for not starting treatment sooner because I was told " it's nothing to worry about". The oncologist and neurologist told me if your older pet has a seizure, 95% of the time it's because of a brain tumor. So if your older pet does have a seizure, for it's sake take it to a vet that is genuinely concerned about your pets health right away, not someone who is more concerned about going on his lunch break. You attitude just disgusts me. You have absolutely no interest in your work anymore and are just going through the motions at this point.
Wonderful service. We're always greeting with a warm smile as soon as we walk through the door. We've had great experiences with different Doctor's here, and they always treat our dogs with a lot of compassion and kindness. You can tell they genuinely want to help. We recently took our dog in for a routine exam where we showed Dr. Hunter a lump on her leg. She decided to do some testing to be safe, and the results came back as a malignant tumour. The pre and post surgery care provided by Dr. Hunter and all the staff was great. We're very grateful. Highly recommend Dewdney Animal Hospital.
You can tell that they all truly love animals and their jobs. Friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating staff. So nice to see all the smiles everytime I have been there.
I've been going to this clinic since I got my kitty back in 2012. Since then I have brought my boa constrictors, my pupp, my lizards. Dr. Walton is very knowledgeable about reptiles which is great and he is always willing to help us out and educate us every time we visit him. Staff is also very lovely to deal with. And their office cat is a gentle beauty!
Dr. Crawford is amazing. She is kind, thorough, and very honest in her assessment of your animal. A real gem.
This is the best veterinary clinic in Maple Ridge. Our animals have always been treated with loving care. Our dog had major surgery and was looked after so well. As well, the staff is friendly and professional, always making each visit wonderful.
Amazing vet office. Staff is awesome and both vets know there stuff. Would not go anywhere else with my exotics
My cat was taken to Dewdney Animal Hospital when it was hit by a car. I received a call while at work in Vancouver saying that my cat needed to be taken to an emergency hospital but that he was being kept comfortable. The closest emergency hospital was Langley. I was going to have my daughter jump in a cab and take her cat to Langley but I got a call back from the doctor who graciously offered to drive him there herself. I was very grateful. The doctor at Langley told me that it would be over $8,000 for my cat to have the surgery he urgently needed and there were no guarantees that he would have any kind of life let alone make it through the surgery, my best option was to have him put to sleep. I made that stressful decision. I had to pay nearly $400 for this.
In the middle of October I received a call from Dewdney animal hospital telling me that I owed nearly $500 for my cat. I had not received an invoice and this was my first phone call. She quoted me an address that the invoice had been sent to which I had not lived at for two years. My veterinary clinic where they originally got my phone number from has updated my file. I gave her my address. She advised that she would send out a new invoice and I said that I would make a payment at the end of October. I never received an invoice. Mid November I received a notice from a collection agency. I still to this day have not received an invoice.
I called and asked why they would send to a collection agency. Normally people get first and second notices before this happens, or so I've been told. The first woman said she didn't know she was just a "stupid receptionist" I said you're not stupid! She said I will get someone that knows. Then a woman came on the line and I was told it was send to collections because I didn't come in and make a payment at the end of October. I said I wasn't going to pay for something when I don't even know what it is I'm paying for and that she said she would send an invoice. She said you could have seen the invoice when you came in to make a payment. Perhaps the original conversation she got her wires crossed and thought that since I was going to make a payment she wouldn't have to send me the invoice. She was extremely rude. "I'm not going to argue with you" was all she kept saying, not letting me get a word in edgewise and then hung up on meI'm sure the doctors there are great but the office practices and the staff are despicable just like any business the front line is who you encounter first and I would NEVER bring my pet there.
