I was hoping for a little more. After having been to a few local microbreweries, I was disappointed visiting here. The green little cutlery baskets to hold our flight didn't feel sturdy carrying them to the table. There wasn't anything to identify which beer was what. It's one thing when you're alone but when you're with friends and want to taste their flight it gets confusing. We kept going into the other room to look at the taps to figure what we had. We then found a ballot box with blank entry forms and wrote what they were.
The room felt sterile. Yes it was painted a happy green but didn't feel warm. Sure the fella that served us would pop out of the back room a couple of times would come out and ask how things were. We replied fine so he disappeared into the back. Other places we'd been, the staff were so friendly and personable asking what are our favourite beers, where we're from, etc. But not here.
I was excited to try some of their specialty beers but my friends and I thought they fell short. It's disappointing because I do enjoy their pale ale.
I guess I can cross it off my list but won't return.response / report this review -

The beer was great, but it's a good thing I got a flight because they only serve one drink per person. And we weren't made aware of this ahead of time (no signs and staff said nothing when we ordered).
The tasting room could use a little work; not very professional or clean (compared to others)
The service also left us disappointed. There was someone there when we arrived but once he served us he disappeared and we never saw him again.
It's too bad because I really loved this brewery. But now that I've visited I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth.response / report this review -

We sell dead frog at my work place. I tried the lager and the IPA. Good stuff. I've also heard good things from customers about the nut brown ale. I plan on visiting the tasting room soon too.

They did a recent renovation to change the "Lounge" area. It doesn't seem so boxed in like before.
The Nut Brown Ale is my favorite from Dead Frog. There are other offerings available, and always lots of options - from traditional to adventurous. Always something new.

I have had three subpar experiences here. I will not return. Do yourself a favour and visit Abbey Ales for great beer and great customer service

First time l tried red dragon, l thought what a great ale. Till I tried IPA from Black Keattle, North Vancouver. Never did I think I would switch to the IPA!!
