They have the most amazing smoked pork chop dinner! There is a special "Chefs Menu" on the weekends that always has really nice looking dishes. Friendly staff.
Thursday night (8pm ish), not a whole lot busy Waited at least 10 min for someone to take us to our seat Waited another 10-15 min before being asked for drinks
Waited another 10-15 min for our drinks to arrive which, for an alcoholic drink, felt like had no alcohol (ordered the Rockstar Root beer)
Waited what feels like at least 20-30 min for our meal to arrive (Taco Pizza and onion rings)
Our rings came but without sauce, our pizza came but without chickenhad to ask for chicken on the side since we didn't want to risk waiting long again.
We didn't get cutlery either.
Overall, food tasted OK, service was horrible, messed up our order.
Can't imagine what a busy day is like. For a place with nice atmosphere and views, it sucks they can't improve on their service.
Hopefully someone has better experience but not us. They did remove the pizza off the bill which was nice
Can't win em all I suppose.
Nice pub.
I will give Daves Pub and Grill 2 stars for the venue. Just lovely on the patio looking overvthe course. However, all 6 of us were not thrilled about the food we ordered. 2 wanted to order burgers, only to find out they were not homemade (they're fault) and they had to be well done by regulation. (Not they're fault)
So burgers were out. So chicken and pasta dishes were ordered. ALL dishes came out luke warm, and virtually unseasoned and no flavour. Meatballs were as dry as3 days old. Too bad. It was a beautiful drive for a b-day get-together. But food was a major disappointment.
We had and OK time at Dave's pub and grill which kind of sucks because we go every year around this time and usually have a great meal. There was a newer item on the menu and being that I only go out to this place once a year I decided that I would try it. The dish was the Thai Coconut Curry dish it comes with 3 options Vegetables alone or your choice of chicken or shrimp. I opted for shrimp. I love Thai food and I am sure that if I didn't have Thai food before now that there would be a bad taste in my mouth about it after this.
I think there is an error in the recipe or they just didn't drain the noodles at all but for the most part I tasted water when it should have been creamy and coconutty with the kick of the curry. I think I debunked the issue and I am assuming if the noodles where drained that instead of canned coconut milk they are using the milk substitution coconut milk which would taste a lot like water and not at all very coconutty at all.
Again I would like to let the restaurant know that I enjoy the restaurant very much but not all experiences are good ones and this was just one of the bad over 6 years of attending. If I picked up on the right error I would be happy to try it again with the right ingredients but otherwise I won't be having that dish again. I will however return in the future.
The pear and brie flat bread was DELICIOUS as was the wine.
