On June 8th Frontenac Paramedics will be co-hosting the PTSD First Responders Golf Tournament at the Loyalist Country Club. As members of the local fire department and having full-time careers in the emergency services we are happy to support this great event. We sure are glad that Maple Weekend was last weekend and not this weekend. Thanks again to our local community for their support and a special thanks to all those that made the trek from city!

Day one was a great day. Cool, but bright! Approximately 175 visitors passed through our camp, with many taking a hike and spending time throwing axes and sitting by the fire. We are excited to do it all over again tomorrow, but first an early bedtime. Looking forward to seeing more friendly faces tomorrow!

We are ready to go for the weekend! The only thing missing is the crowd! PLEASE bring your rubber boots if you are planning on taking a hike on our trails. Today’s snow has made them muddy.

Maple Weekend 2018 is only a few days away! April 7th & 8th. Make plans to come visit this weekend. See how we make our maple syrup from start to finish. Sample maple syrup, sugar, taffy and butter. You can take a hike on one of our two trails (800m or 1.5km hikes). Frontenac Blades will be here again this year for axe and knife throwing. On Saturday afternoon local face painters will be onsite for the kids. Also this year a local woodturner will be displaying some beautiful maple creations that will be available for purchase. Cota's Mobile Catering & Bar-B-Que will be here all weekend to keep your bellies full. And of course, we will have the campfire going boiling sap the old fashioned way, so come spend a few hours with us out in the fresh country air!

We spent another great Easter weekend making syrup and spending time with family. This morning we spent a few hours getting our walking trails marked for hikers next weekend!

After a month of making a nice tasting amber grade of syrup, yesterday’s run produced an amazing golden (formerly extra light) grade of syrup! Delicious. This is the syrup we use to make our maple butter and maple candies with. It makes a great dessert all by itself too!
