The content is very informative, perhaps a bit more in depth then what you actually need to know, but covers a large amount of information. The videos in the slides are great for those who would rather watch something then read. The big problem is how SLOW this is. With a timer for every page, I am well past reading the content and then sitting and waiting until I can go on to the next slide. There should be the option of scrolling through the information faster. It is way way too slow!!!! The quizzes also do not tell you what questions you got wrong so you cannot review your answers if you are unsure of something. We bought this as a deal so the whole family could get their licenses, I wish I would have gone with another provider as the amount of time required by each of us is insane. Be prepared to spend several working on this. Its unfortunate that the timing issues puts such a negative light on what could otherwise be a good course.

Thorough and informative. I am in an area where alot of this course is useless but it is knowledge that I am glad I now have.

I watched the videos, read the text, paused and wrote many many notes. Module tests took 5 mins each.

Up to 10 hours to get through to the Exam and although it was long, I enjoy learning new things and I feel alot more confident being on the water.

Thank you for the great discount!

My kids (10 and 11) will be taking this course as well.

The information is thorough and informative. However, I struggled getting thru the content because of the timer. Hence I am writing this review as I’m waiting for module 2/7 Lesson 33/52 to run its time. I wish the government would make some adjustments on their programming requirements as I feel it’s frustrating for people since we all learn at different rates. Thank you BOATSMART for doing the absolute best content for what you have been given to work with. I hope in the future there will be enough opposition to modify the way this program is handled!

This is a very thorough and effective learning tool. The combination of voice, words and pictures/video maximize the opportunity to take on new information. The course did take me the better part of an entire day, but it was worth it as I passed the exam the first time.

It’s too bad that it’s good for life. I’ve had chats with people that have had their PCOC for years, but haven’t a clue of the rules on the water. I remind them if they have their card, they should know their stuff. The police won’t take kindly to “I didn’t know that” when they get pulled over on the water.

Retesting AND a practical exam to prove that you can operate a vessel safely and then maybe we won’t have so many know it alls on the water with more attitude than knowledge.

Take a real boating course and actually learn something.

And if it was a License, you’d be able to lose it. It’s not a license. Doesn’t say that anywhere on the card.

Started the online at 10:30 a.m and didn't finish till 3:30p.m to get through all the quiz's and modules that were literally pointless, and gave me hour and 15 to do a test i finished in 15 minutes.. wish they gave me an option to challenge the test would have saved me Half a day to get out and enjoyed my holiday more. Oh well its done now, just really, REALLY wasn't impressed

Great course for both my daughter and I. Learned a lot and great way to spend time together learning about boat safety. I recommend if you want to do it on your leisure time and no time spend in classroom.

The content is fine but it is SOOOOO SLOWWW. The video is done and you still have to wait to go to the next screen. I can easily read the paragraphs 2 times and still need to wait for the timer to run out before I can proceed. I am actually writing this while waiting for the timer to run out. Only sign up if you have lots of extra time to waste. Again done another module with 33 secs left to sit at stare at the screen. About 2 hours in and almost done module 2 of 7. going to be a long night.

Forces you to waste time when you're finished reading the page, which in turn leads to distraction, which in turn leads to loss of information retention. If you fail a module quiz, get ready to sit there for another hour waiting for the timer to expire. Absolutely ridiculous waste of time and money.

I can't read at this slow of a pace and actually retain information to pass quizzes or tests. I'll end up doing other things instead when asked to wait 45-60seconds after I'm done reading to let the timer expire to move to the next module. Refund please.

Took me about 4 hours to get through the course but it was very informative. I passed!� I would definitely recommend BOATsmart! for anyone wanting to obtain a Pleasure Craft Operator's lisence. And I have.
