Meet Graham Trude. Graham is a country music artist who served in Afghanistan and is now a police officer in Orangeville, Ontario. He has written and recorded a new song “Seen What I’ve Seen”, which is a single highlighting his personal experience battling Operational Stress.
Proceeds from this song will be donated to support our national mental health programs and we thank Graham for his willingness to use his artistic talent to share his story and, ultimately, raise funds and awareness to help his fellow Veterans and First Responders in their time of need. #InThisTogether.

Proud to welcome the Conception Bay South Fire Department to the WWC team! This is our first Partnership Agreement with a fire service in Atlantic Canada and follows our partnership with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary that was launched in April. Over 20% of the Conception Bay South Fire Department members are still serving or Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, which is something we see across the First Responder community nationally. Today we pause and remember the service and sacrifice of Corporal Nathan Cirillo, killed 4 years ago while standing sentry at the National War Memorial, and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who was run down just days before the Parliament Hill shootings. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and the entire Canadian Armed Forces community. We will remember them.

In 2013 we made a 10-year, $400,000 commitment to the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) to create the Wounded Warriors Canada Doctoral Scholarship. Our team is proud to announce that Stephanie Houle-Jounson (sixth from left in the photo) from the University of Ottawa is our 2018 recipient! Stephanie's research will focus on moral injury in the Canadian Armed Forces. It was an extra special Scholarship announcement this year as we also welcomed Lundbeck Canada as our first research sponsor. With Remembrance Day one month away we are proud to announce that Robert Pilon, who played the signature roles of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera (in the Toronto Productions and across Canada), will host a WWC benefit concert in Toronto on November 8th.
The event, titled Robert Pilon and Friends: A Time To Remember, will feature a musical concert of varied and wonderful talent including including Jully Black, Dr. Draw (electric violinist extraordinaire), Holly Carr (performance artist), and a sixty member choir. The concert will take place at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts at 8:00pm.

We're proud to announce a new partnership with Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES) and the Mississauga Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 1212. Moving forward, we will work directly with MFES to add an additional layer of mental health program support for their members (active and retired) and their families.

Load in almost complete at the Spartan World Championships! Beginning on Friday, three endurance athletes will step inside their own shipping container where they will run in an environment deprived of light, sound and any other typical data used to gauge and monitor performance. The athlete running the furthest during the 24-hours will walk away with bragging rights with the true victory being those who are helped from this event. The event is being hosted by The Whiteboard Project to raise awareness and funds in support of our mental health programs. 17 years ago today, 2974 lives and families were changed forever. Over 1,000 people have died from exposure to debris and more than 37,000 are officially recognized as sick. The attacks profoundly impacted Canada, resulting in our 12 year operations in Afghanistan where we lost 162 Canadians and thousands have been forever changed as a result of their service.
September 11th is also Canada's National Day of Service. It is meant to remember the courage and compassion in the aftermath of 9/11 and rekindle the spirit of kindness and goodwill that unified our country, which was best exhibited by our friends in Gander, Newfoundland. Get involved anyway you can, contribute to a cause near to you, and may we never forget!

We're excited to announce the completion of the first-ever WWC Before Operational Stress program (BOS)! BOS is an innovative group-based program that has been carefully designed to enhance the resilience and mental health for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, First Responders, Corrections Officers, and 911 Operators. It consists of 16 hours of education and group process, facilitated by trauma therapists who bring together cutting-edge clinical approaches with recognized scientific expertise.
