  Hotel is clean and frontdesk and room staff service is good. Rooms do not have a fridge or microwave and the hallways are showing wear and tear. Hotel restaurant is very nice but the breakfast service can be slow. Close to downtown, transit, and restaurants.

  Coast Bastion is a great place to hold meetings. Their staff are on the ball! Rooms were comfortable and clean. Would come here again!

  The Bastion, is a snapshot of a previous era. An old hotel, in need of a good renovation. Good location, near the seaplane terminals, near the waterfront, but also near all the civic issues of street homelessness, drug abuse and mental illness. Just an old & dated hotel. While the best of Nanaimo, it isn’t what I expected from a larger BC city.

  We stayed at Coast Bastion Hotel thanksgiving long weekend and were very impressed. The staff are very pleasant and service was excellent. Very clean and comfortable and would highly recommend this hotel! A special thanks to Irene, who made the weekend very special! Job well done!

  Been at a several day conference. This hotel is to of the best hotel. They offer great support for our conference. Clean and bring pretty. Fantastic location. A 10 min walk during breaks is a fantastic change to a seawall experience that clears put your head. Amazing in all aspects. A+

  Great hotel, my room was on the 10th floor and had a stellar view. Room was bright and spacious and the turn down service was on point. I also like that they had an option to not have your linens freshened constantly because that can get wasteful. WiFi with the room was actually pretty good, phone had no issues but laptop really struggled sometimes.

  Nice hotel, really central location and good views of the harbour. Lots to do and now very amenities with a gym in the basement. Solid hotel

  Great friendly staff! Clean rooms! Comfortable beds and great experience overall. Easy check-in. The only thing that made this a 4-star experience was that the Wi-Fi was absolutely terrible for some reason couldn't connect for a lot of the times and when I could, it was very slow!

  We had our wedding reception here. I don't know what her name was but she really went out of her way to make sure that the night was a good one. Overall it's been excellent and would love to do more things here again

  I was fortunate enough to have had a workplace meeting at the coast bastion hotel in Nanaimo. The seats were comfortable, the complimentary water and fruit/pastry dishes were delightful, and the staff were courteous and professional. I would highly reccomend the coast bastion as a place to host workplace meetings.

  Fantastic hotel. Certainly upscale. Loved everything minus the paid overnight parking. Oh..and no breakfast included. Will expect continental breakfast for that price. Next time will try Dorchester Best Western across the street.

  Located in the core of downtown Nanaimo, within a very short walking distance of the convention centre. Rooms were clean, modern, well appointed and spacious. Room service was available to deliver breakfast in bed. Have stayed here before and will stay here again.

  Had a beautiful room, dinner was fantastic, view from room was amazing. Breakfast card wasn't picked up, so breakfast was not brought up to the room, but the hotel staff quickly rectified the issue at check out. Staff was friendly and we had a great time
