I have been surprised the first time to finally get a good dinner, almost like in Italy. Which is not really possible since the product are not all imported. Service is good and the place has this vintage/classic room which put you in a relaxing mood. Awesome place to bring your mother and father, or have your date if you want to have the best Italian in town

Superb food and friendly service make this a must visit when you want Italian food. The pasta portions are just right, reasonably priced and above all super tasty. Reservation recommended or you might have to wait for a table.

What's not to love? The food here is consistently EXCELLENT, so is the service. I used to frequent Carmelo's at least once a week when I lived in W Van. Since I moved some 5 years ago, I pop back every so often; same welcoming staff, same owners + same wonderful menu. I eat a lot less meat these days, but I never feel like I'm missing out here because everything is made with love; salads, fish & pasta dishes- all down home comfort food. The pasta will take you away to Tuscany. :-) One of my favourite salads is the Insalata di Pomodori. I tried the artichoke cannelloni this time- it was bellissima! (ps. Paying the bill is always a pleasant surprise- great value for your money.)

Do not go to this place unless you want to be greeted by a rude manager who is going to tell you how busy their restaurant is. My father moved in the neighbourhood so I called in to politely request a table reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant was more than half empty and the manager would only seat us in the back. Only one window table had a reservation sign on it, but she refused to sit us anywhere else stating that "we are a very busy restaurant, you just phoned in. We have regular clients who request very specific tables so we have to accommodate". I have never been spoken to in such a patronizing manner by a restaurant manager. Will never step foot in this restaurant again.

Staff are warm and friendly and know their regulars well. Food is excellent and the wine selection meets the requirements of the neighbourhood. Would recommend this for anyone looking for an upscale meal at appropriate prices.

Phoned for a takeout order at 9.02 and was told the kitchen closes at 9. What an attitude!

Possibly one of my favourite places to dine. Excellent italian food and a killer vine list. They always make u feel welcome and the service is beyond professional and caring. Everything is perfect..
