Wonderful experience. If you're using the student services, I recommend Bessy. She's very warm and will make you feel welcome. She and her instructor were accomodating with my special request to cut minimum 8" off so my hair can be harvested and donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths program (partnership with Canadian Cancer Society). I was impressed they squeezed me in for same day appointment.

I was a model for waxing exams for two students at Aveda over a decade ago and had excellent experience both times. I'll be modeling for a makeup test soon so I'll keep posted on how that goes.

I called in to book a same day appointment with one of their senior stylists and was helped to find a time that would mesh with my work schedule. My stylist was incredibly warm and efficient. She completely understood my time crunch and work quickly to get me out ASAP. I absolutely love my cut and will be going only to this salon from now on, especially since I can bring my pug!! 🙏🏼 Thank You!!!

They were not able to do what I requested the first time. I Went back to fix it, had a consultation to make sure my hair could take it.result: Fried hair!

As a reply to your reply: I did tell you how unsatisfied I was, and that is why I came back a week later to fix my hair.
As per telling anyone that I was yet again unhappy .I couldn't as you all disappeared in the back.

I Have shared with the owner my experience and sent him photos. I have asked for a refund.and he did for which I am grateful. He also offered a free consultation and redo which I may do.

At the end I have decided to revise my review because he acknowledged the issue and owned up to it. Thank you

I really appreciate the spa experience when going to Aveda. The front desk staff are very attentive and I enjoy being offered tea or water. I also appreciate that the stylist focuses only on you and isn't juggling 2 or 3 customers at a time. Neesa took the time to show me how to flat iron curl my hair. I will definitely be going back.

Brae gave me a great cut. Terribly fussy about bangs and they fell perfectly a week later after my first wash. Very professional and pleasant experience. Highly recommend for those who want a good cut but cannot afford high end prices.

I absolutly love the hair cut and color I got from Neesa. It was better then I could have expected since it is hard to get cool tone highlights in black hair. And the haircut was exactly like the one in the photo I had shown her.

The stylist was very friendly and skillful in styling my hair. However, I am extremely disappointed in the colour. I have a semi-permanent colour applied to my hair every 6-8 weeks, and have done so for about 3 or 4 years, but with the Aveda product the colour didn't take at all and I walked out with the same colour hair (and as much grey hair) as I came in with. Before I left the salon, I did notice there was quite a bit of grey still at the temple, but when I had the time to look more carefully, I saw the colour hadn't changed at all anywhere on my head. (Friends confirmed this opinion.) I cannot recommend the temporary colour. (Aveda calls "temporary colour" something different, which should have tipped me off.) I'm really disappointed and am posting this review so that perhaps someone else can avoid making the same very expensive ($100) mistake. Go in for a styling and probably for a cut or permanent colour, too, by all means, but give the "deposit" colour (which I expected to be what other salons call "temporary" or "semi-permanent" or "glossing") a *complete* miss.

I've had great cut and highlight experiences here with several students, most recently Maia. The students are supervised, do a very careful job and are up to date on all the latest techniques. I've been happier with the results here than at some very pricey professional salons. It takes a little longer, but if you have the patience (and a little risk tolerance!) you can get some great, inexpensive hair services while helping students develop their skills.
