I really enjoyed completing the class/pool component of PADI Open Water with Aquarius Scuba. Randy was a great instructor, and made the material easy to comprehend. Randy and Nick (dive master) were excellent coaches in the pool, and not only made sure we felt safe, but made it really fun to learn this amazing new skill. Their passion for the underwater world made me even more excited to travel and dive, but also made me curious about local opportunities such as Tobermory and other Ontario dive locations. Aquarius is a great choice for dive lessons!

Just so happened that we went on a quiet night and essentially got a private lesson. We watched the video and headed over to Etobicoke at their Olympic sized pool. Nick was our dive master and Olivier was another diver who helped out. They were super patient, helpful, and got all our equipment ready. Once in the pool, I freaked out and our instructors helped me surface and gain control. Meanwhile, my boyfriend was doing somersaults with Nick under water. I eventually went back in and swam up and down, across the pool the rest of the time. Anyway, the point being both Nick and Olivier were extremely mindful of the levels we were at, and encouraged us to push our boundaries while being a safe space. Had a full hour in the pool and every minute of it was fun!! Thanks guys for a great evening.

I had the pleasure of using Aquarius to do my Open water certificate a few years ago and it was great. The class portion was no problem, took the time to learn everything and was very thorough. The pool portion was good, got familiar with the gear and buoyancy but was great to learn to breathe underwater. At the lake, Francois couldn't have been better. Very easy going and went at our pace, I had some issues with clearing my mask but he was able to calm me down and get back to the platform to finish the open water portion just fine. Very professional, very patient crew and I have now moved on to scuba diving off a few Caribbean islands!

A friend of mine who’s a scuba instructor recommended that I come do the course with him at Aquarius and it was a great experience.
The whole certification was over 2 weekends and they were even offering to give us rides and bring our equipment to the pool and lake if we did not have a car.
I did both the class/pool and the lake diving with my friend Francois and it was an awesome experience! Since then I got all my gear with Aquarius. Peter and Mark are always very helpful in getting me the right equipment.
I also went on several local and international trips with the store and plan on going on more in the future. I highly recommend for anyone to do their certification with Aquarius.response / report this review -

The employees of Aquarius were very helpful with everything I needed! Peter took so much time to explain how the certification would happen, the timeline and schedule, and they even gave me a free ride to the pool and to the lake with all my rental gear!
Randy was very patient in the pool as we had a big group. Francois gave us lots of information about the gear and diving in the lake and was very supportive and encouraging for some students who were a little worried about diving in the lake. It was a lot more than what I expected a simple diving certification would be. thanks again for a great experience!response / report this review -

My friend and I just completed our open water certification at Aquarius scuba last weekend. I highly recommend doing the private sessions! We did the open water dive with Mark (owner) and it was awesome. He's a very patient and fun instructor and will do all the skills at a pace you're comfortable with. You can tell he loves teaching and diving. Overall I would highly recommend Aquarius scuba if you are looking to be a diver!

I just finished my open water this weekend. Steve, Randy & Dive Master Nick were great!! I was a bit nervous on the first day, but they put anything I was nervous about at ease. The instructors take their time to make sure everybody is comfortable before moving to the next step. I highly recommend them! The instructors are great and so are the store staff helping with anything you might need to rent or buy. 5 stars for sure!! It was a really fun time, at the end of your course you get some time to swim around and experience being a certified diver, it was a great experience. Thanks Aquarius :)

I took the open water diver 2 day classroom and pool course with Randy. Before the class I was overwhelmed with information and after the class and pool time I am much more prepared for my open water dives. The instruction by Randy was thorough, interesting, and relevant. I would highly recommend him and Aquarius for this course.

Very, very happy with my experience with Aquarius Scuba! I competed my Emergency O2 and drysuit specialty courses here. All of my instructors -- Mark, Lisa, and Taylor -- went totally above and beyond for my courses. They were so attentive, went the extra mile with weird specialty questions I had, stayed in 4*C water with me, etc etc etc. This shop was recommended to me by a colleague, and I'm so glad I came from out of town to do these courses here. I will definitely be back!

Aquarius scuba was super nice and accommodating. I couldn't do weekends and so I did my pool dives during the week. Peipei my instructor was super nice and you could tell he loved diving. Everyone at the dive shop was friendly as well, especially Peter and the Polish man (sorry I forgot your name) . I ended up buying a wet suit that I love from them.

Aquarius Scuba is the best dive shop in Toronto. All of the staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They really support people who are interested in learning about scuba through the many courses that are available, and they work with your schedule to make sure that you can complete what you hope to. No other dive shop has ever been so accommodating with our busy schedules. We certainly feel that Aquarius more than adequately prepares you for whatever diving you might want to undertake. And they offer amazing dive trips! Definitely recommend.

My wife and I were shopping for new regs for an upcoming trip and ended up getting them at Aquarius. We were helped by Brant who walked us through the different models and even offered us a trade in trade up program for our old regs. What I appreciated the most was Brant’s knowledge and customer service. They also have all the parts and accessories and stock a variety of models and colors. I am really impressed with their inventory selection and technical expertise. Thanks Brant for all your help!
