Unfortunately, a lot of people do not realize many things about UofT SCS before signing up here. Aside from the poor customer service which has been pointed out several times by others, the bigger issue is that this is not "real" UofT. What I mean is that, this is just UofT by namesake: *NONE* of the programs/courses are endorsed by the university itself, you don't get any sort of credit. The vast majority of instructors actually have very little theoretical knowledge in their areas of teaching, they mostly hire people based on "practical" experience.

It is unfortunate that employers and students are shelling out so much money for the "name", but a name that doesn't have much meaning as people actually at UofT don't consider SCS to be anything, proof: they don't give one ounce of funding for it! You are MUCH better off going to another institution like McMaster's CCE for example, much more beneficial and professional!

Difficult to get a hold off. Please consider hiring more staff. Phone calls get disconnected right after making a selection in the main menu. Maybe divert more of the money from all those subway ads to actual representatives who can aid students.

So far, TERRIBLE service. You just simply cannot contact a live person on their phone lines and via email can take weeks for them to reply back to one simple question. If you can, stay away from this service, horrible and frustrating. And they will take your money of course.

They are very hard to communicate with. Once you register for a service and CES has taken you money they just leave you hanging. Horrible service and waste of time as you constantly have to follow up.

Some things must be noted about this "School":

1. The administrative staff is completely incompetent in handling your student requests. The Academic Program directors have no expertise in the subjects they are presiding over, which has led to instructors being hired that have no expertise in their subject matter.

2. This school is not officially part of The UofT. Many students enrol in SCS courses thinking that they are going to get UofT credentials, but, it is not so. They don't receive any funding from UofT, the courses are not accredited by UofT (or any academic institution), it is just a namesake. So, you cannot complete courses at SCS and use them as credit anywhere else, which is kind of silly, since this is possible with most extension schools in the States. Further, not a single member of the regular/real UofT community consider SCS to be anything. Many, many employers get fooled by this, it needs to stop!

3. There are cheaper and more credible alternatives. For example, SCS charges an arm and a leg for their data science courses. However, Coursera and edX have cheaper alternatives (by several hundreds of dollars) that ARE accredited by major corporations like Microsoft and universities like Johns Hopkins and Columbia.

Save your money, don't waste your time, go somewhere else.
