We arrived early in the morning so our rooms weren't ready yet but the staff members Terry and Britney catered to us beautifully. Our vacation started right away with these two. We ordered breakfast had coffee and were able to quick change into our bathing suits to sit poolside and beachside while waiting for our rooms which were ready by 1pm (3 hours earlier than expected). The hut just off the pool serves all kinds of adult beverages and sodas. You can order breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hut called La Cala Tapas Bar. The food is so good here. The place is just a great vacation spot. It has a pool, kayaks, bikes, golf carts and access to water adventures and spa treatments. The hammocks quickly became my daily meditation spot. This laid-back boutique resort is easygoing and not far free from stores and Secret Beach. I plan on coming back.

This place is wonderful. Not only is it beautiful and comfortable, but the staff is the shining star. If you need anything from dinner ideas, a taxi, or just more conditioner they are all just a request away. Not only great service, but with a smile and a joke! 😍

I loved this place. Super relaxing. My kind of place in which I will definitely come back if I get the chance to come back. The staff were super friendly and very helpful in exploring the island. Kayaks and snorkels available on premises. No complaints about this place whatsoever!

Cozy and beautiful little resort is great but the staff is what sets this place apart. Teri was so helpful and everything she suggested was top notch. A full day of snorkeling, fishing, and BBQ with her friend Joel was our favorite part of an amazing trip. Britney and Ruth at the bar are so friendly and sweet that we didn't want to go anywhere else at night. The grounds crew is hard at work as soon as the sun comes up and keeps the site in pristine condition.

Beautiful little resort. Within walking or a short bike ride to great restaurants. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Rent a golf cart and explore the downtown. The pool is great and the grounds are perfect.

Quiet, reef is a short kayak straight off the dock. No beach but beautifully groomed white sand and the restraunt is a short walk or bike away. You may also rent a golf cart to go into town or take the water taxi that will come to the dock every half hour or so.

White Sands Cove tries their best, but is disappointing. It claims to be a resort but it's more like an apartment that you have to stock with food and take care of during your stay.

The scenery is beautiful, but that is undermined by the massive insect problem (mainly large mosquitoes and sand fleas). This problem is so prominent, yet the staff and locals make no attempt to eradicate the many standing water pools. The largest detractor to this resort is the constant need to apply Deet (which does very little). You literally can't go outside without getting bitten with or without bug spray.

Regarding the amenities; there are very few. No phone in the room, no ironing board (or iron) and no room service. There is a kitchen and a fridge that you will need to stock yourself immediately upon arriving because the bar is only open for food service from 1-9pm. If you arrive before or after this time (many flights land in the evening) then you only have 1-3 restaurant options on the island (25 min walk in the dark as there are no street lights). If you are ordering food between these hours be prepared to wait. There is only 1 cook and she very proudly operates on "island time" which means that a simple sandwich or burger will take about an hour to make and be delivered to the bar.

Here is the largest complaint: the lack of a modern sewer system. Understandably this is a third world country, however, you would expect to have a more modern solution for waste removal. When we arrived you are "briefed" on the many things that differ from the real world. Mainly that you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilet. Instead, there is a waste bin next to the toilet in which you must dispose of the used toilet paper This is probably the most offsetting thing to do.

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation where the staff waits on you hand and foot - then this is NOT the place for you. Instead, prepare to wait on their staff for everything and be sorely disappointed in the quality of your stay.

White Sands is an absolutely excellent resort. The staff if very friendly and knowledgeable about the town of San Pedro and of local restaurants. Very clean, beautiful place to be. The food in the restaurant/bar is excellent and is all made on the resort, locally.
The only complaint I had was the small distance you must travel to the market for groceries, but the complementary bicycles provided by the resort made the trip a breeze.

White Sands Cove is a lovely and elegant resort just north of San Pedro. It is easy to get to by water taxi or golf cart. We also borrowed the resort's handy bikes to ride around the island a few times.

The staff is so helpful and friendly. For instance, when we first arrived, we realized we'd lost a bag on the way from the airport. Everyone scrambled to put us at ease while they went all out to help us locate it. Heather called in a radio ad and Kevin grabbed a motorcycle to retrace our route while we were served a cold drink in the shade. All week, everyone made our stay as simple and relaxing as possible.

The pool is beautiful. The water is amazing. We enjoyed snorkeling just a short kayak ride off the pier. Of course, the excursions were great too, and the office was very helpful getting us all set up to have adventures on the water and in the Mayan ruins.
