The blue hole is beautiful from above, but somewhat disappointing as a dive spot.

One of the main reasons I went to Belize was for scuba diving, and I saw the blue hole as one of the top 10 dives in the world and got hyped up, but after doing it, I see it as nothing more than an item to check out of a bucket list and wouldn’t put it anywhere near a top 10 list.

If you do it, you’ll see few big underwater stalactites, but know that’s all too be seen down there and due to the dept (42m) it’ll be a short dive. Also price wise it’s charged in average $300+ USD.

Cool dive, but as others have said not a lot of life in the hole. We went 142 feet to see the stalagmites, but other than the thrill of going deep for a few minutes, the beauty is in the fact it exists vs what you see on the dive. Would definitely recommend. We got there on day three of a live aboard so the trip out and back was not long for us. Would go again. Would probably be a great dive for a technical diver.

The Blue whole is a feast to the eyes. Beautiful blue all around and awesome sea creatures to see during your dive or snorkel

Go! This was my first scuba diving experience. I went with a Discover Scuba visit from Caye Caulker. It was a bit of a boat ride to get there, but well worth the trip.

Wow, this was a bucket list item and i am so glad i was able to do this. We saw a hammerhead shark, stalagtites, two eagle rays swam around us for a bit. It was beautiful

Unmissible place if you enjoy Scuba or Snorkeling! Flying over it is good, however won't ever replace the real thing! Go for it, it is the only real blue hole in the West! The other famous one is at Dahab in the Red Sea, too far away

i dove the blue hole with my little sister last july 2016. it was stunning. no, it will not have the marine life you’ll see elsewhere, in fact - there is barely any! but it is vast feeling, deep, and swimming between the stalagtights and mights was jsut amazing. eerie, but magnificent. God is a great God, and He made the sea and all that is in it.

Amazing dive! The boat ride out is about 2 hours though so, be prepared if you suffer from sea sickness. Water was cooler than expected, but this is a definite must do for any diving enthusiast

Dove the Blue hole this week- Famous Deep dive off the coast of Belize. Glad to say I did the dive, but not a lot to see, large stalagmites and stalagmites in this colder water 75 degrees F --was more like a technical dive, the experience was good and bottom time was scheduled for no more than 6 minutes-- which was plenty of time!

The Great Blue Hole is a giant submarine sinkhole off the coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small atoll 70 km (43 mi) from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is circular in shape, over 300 m (984 ft) across and 108 m (354 ft) deep.

Absolutely beautiful natural wonder. Went for the aerial view to take it all in. Absolute must if you are visiting Belize, from the skies or the sea!

So beautiful. Unfortunately, the diving in the blue hole is short lived and the amount of time spent there is much less than expected, it is still an amazing place. The colors are incredible and is such a spectacular place to dive. It's a bit of a rat race though. If you can spend more to go on a small boat, do it! The ride will be regrettable but spending time at the blue hole will be worth every penny!!

It's a 2+ hr boat ride from the nearest island to get to the Great Blue Hole. Our ride out was really choppy, I'm glad I had anti nausea medication and the crew from Belize Dive Services was so well trained. The dive here is best suited for advanced divers since the attraction is the cave/rock formations at 40 metres. I still enjoyed my dives despite not being able to dive to that depth, especially since it was my first time seeing sharks on a dive! The hole is definitely beautiful from above as well.
