A perfect experience! We loved our room, fresh flowers decorating the bed, turn down service with treats! The staff is unbelievable! They knew my daughter by name, gave her extra maraschino cherries on her smoothies, so friendly! Each day was better than the last. Great food, spa services, fishing and snorkeling. Everything was so convenient. We will definitely be back, cant wait!

My husband and I stayed at Portofino for 5 nights during our first trip to Belize and we absolutely fell in love- with the country and this resort. All of the staff is so friendly and happy. Matthew, the manager, made sure our stay was extra special with all of his attentiveness and little extras. When the resort didn’t have cigars on site to sell, Matthew brought some back with him from town the next day. It was things like this that made us feel like we were truly on vacation. The restaurant is delicious. The pool is a perfect size. The accommodations are beautiful. The only drawback was that the thatched roof, as gorgeous as it is, does tend to let in the occasional bug or gecko. Overall, not a big deal and I hate bugs.
The spa staff were amazing as well. And the dive shop, located on the premises, was so wonderful to work with. Roberto took me from being paralyzingly afraid to swim with sharks, to actively trying to pet them during our snorkeling adventure. Roberto also suggested taking a golf cart into town- a suggestion I originally shied away from since my only perception of traveling to a foreign country is “stay at the resort, don’t venture out on your own”- not true on San Pedro. This was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip- taking our own golf cart 7 miles from Portofino into town for shopping and lunch/dinner. Even coming back at night feels very safe.
Overall, this resort was just perfect. This was our first Belize trip and definitely won’t be our last.

We just got back from our vacation in San Pedro,. We stayed at Portofino Resort it was FANTASTIC! everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, pool was great, and so was the food. I will recommend this resort to all my family and friends. When we booked an excursion for snorkeling or Mayan ruins and cave tubing it was so easy. the folks at the front desk took care of everything for us. I recommend renting a golf cart. We thoroughly enjoyed ALL our guides, they were a wealth of information. Very polite, gracious. We had so much fun!!!!

This is a nice place for sure. We rented the entire mansion and it was pretty clean and the house keeping does a good job. The staff is friendly and helpful. The dive and scuba trips were well organized and the dive team is very nice and looked out for our safety. The reason for only 4 stars is because of a few things. The place is starting to show its age, the food could be better and I think should be cheaper for what it is. Many other great restaurants on the island has better quality food for cheaper. But it depends on who you are and you might disagree. This is only my view.

I loved it!!!! All of the workers are so nice and helpful. They all did a great job making my stay amazing. The food is a bit pricy (especially dinner) but it all taste great. The ocean is pretty but shallow. I would recommend taking a kayak out and swimming further out. The pool is great and makes up for the shallow ocean. Other than the high prices and a mediocre swimming front I loved this place!

AMAZING!!! The hotel staff's attention, service (particularly Reese and Dorcas), and the details put into making a visitor feel at home was beyond what I would have imagined. Beautiful property. Seaweed would accumulate at shore every few hours but it was constantly taken care of. The resort's restaurant was great. Must book trips with Ricardo and Marco. They not only made our water trips an enjoyable experience, they taught us lots of the local Belizean culture. Rent golf carts on site. It is more economic and much easier to get to San Pedro than with a taxi cab. You can even hop on their boat free of charge when they are doing a pick up/drop off in town. Wonderful property and great hotel team! I would certainly return!!
