Great hostel, dorm beds are good and they have A.C! Also met some amazing people there, so I recommend if you're travelling by yourself and want to meet people.

As a downside, Their food is good but also a bit pricy and they don't always mention you have a discount on the food by staying there

This hostel is okay, but the common areas are infested with mosquitos, and our private double room's bathroom smelled like sewage after the first night. The smell of sewage was coming from the shower drain and become incredibly rancid and disgusting as the days progressed. It was so bad we had to leave the bathroom door closed and dreaded having to go in there because the smell was truly awful. It was so horrible, mosquitos actually manifested from that drain and bite us while we slept. As others have mentioned, the restaurant is exspensive for such low quality food and the bar is full of crude, loud people getting drunk at 10 AM. On the plus side, shout out to the cleaning ladies, they were genuine and very nice.

Hostel is ok. Restaurant is pretty expensive, especially with a group of 6+ people, in which case they add 18% (!) service charge. They offer happy hour pizzas at "reduced" prices, but if you calculate it, you get the same amount of food per dollar as with the normal price, because the pizzas are smaller. The event agency is pretty good though, at least for full-day snorkeling, they offered the same content as other agencies at lower prices.

What a great place to be - nice easy going peoples. Clean - Stuff is friendly and always helpful (they even organize you a machete to open your own coconut :)

Very friendly, clean and economical. We had a private room that had great a/c. A little noisy at night, so bring some earplugs.
Good food in the restaurant, too.

Great oceanfront place
Great food
Ladies dorms have 2 toilets,one separate room with sink and mirror and one shower .another shower outside room around the corner .
Quiet dorm as at back of property away from bar area .

Private room was nice and clean with all the amenities. Air conditioner worked great. Walls are a bit thin but private rooms are very isolated from the bar.

We did not stay here so I can only speak about the food. The pizza was one of the best pizza's I've ever had! I'm a 45 year old fat guy so I know my pizza! I will be back.

Best value for money on the island for a comfortable, air-conditioned bed. Even for those who aren't into "hostels", I'd recommend looking into Sandbar. Large lockers for each bed. Privacy curtains for each bed. Hey, you're in a tropical paradise, you're not staying in the room much. Their food menu has a good variety. Though not for everyone, the Apple, Bleu Cheese and Onion pizza (pictured) is awesome!

Best hostel I've ever been. The rooms are super clean. In the dorms you have curtains on your bunkbeds for a bit of privacy. The staff is awesome, they are very friendly and make you feel like home. The bar and restaurant is very good. Nice food and great drinks. If you get the chance, book them!

Great little hostel within walking distance to the water taxi. Very clean, well maintained and helpful staff made my stay a pleasant one. The bar has regular happy specials and the food is good. Highly recommended.

One of the best hostel experiences ever! The facility was cleaned daily, and the restaurant/bar downstairs is awesome! Good food and drinks at reasonable prices-- especially during happy hour. The location couldn't be better, and the new addition of the deck is amazing. The staff (especially the bartenders) is/are all around extremely accommodating and friendly. I would not hesitate to come back to Belize just to return here! Thank you Sandbar!

Awesome hostel. I've stayed in several hostels through several countries. This is one of the better ones I've stayed in. Very Clean! They provide sheets and one towel for showering. Air Conditioning works well. Beds are ok. Restroom/showers are clean. Host will set you up with guided tours. Included are kayaks for guest to take out. I'd def stay here again!

This is a really nice place in San Ignacio! We stayed here four nights in dorms and were very comfortable. The beds have curtains for privacy and shelves to put your personal items. The shared bathrooma are large so you're never waiting for a shower. The beachside location is lovely and the bar is perfect for relaxing with a coffee or a cocktail. Staff are really nice and helpful too. Lovely place to stay!

Probably one of the most organized hostels I had stayed. They were really nice, checked us in, the beds were comfortable and cool, and the showers had tremendous water pressure.

The two front desk ladies at Sandbar went above and beyond with my trip in San Pedro. They helped with Blue Hole scuba diving recommendations (Amigos Del Mar who were outstanding) and were also flexible with room availability. The dorm rooms are set up well, with each bed having their own curtains for privacy, and own shelf and plug next to the bed. A/C works well. Would stay here again if I myself in San Pedro for another time.

My husband and I spent a week at this hostel. We were very happy with the cleanliness, food, and service. Best part was the fabulous views of the ocean and location (just a short walk to everything San Pedro has to offer) Also the pizza is the best on the island. Ask any local they will agree!

We hopefully will get the opportunity to come back soon. We have already recommend this hostel to many of our friends and family!
