I had a very enjoyable visit to Maya Mountain Lodge in 2017. Bart and Suzi are the owners and a great wealth of information on Belize and better health. This is a great place to stay for couples and families.I highly recommend you stay here when visiting the San Ignacio area. They also offer great tours.

Good value for money. The rooms are small but nice and clean. The gardens and pool are beautiful. Food is okay for an hotel.

Stayed here for a couple of nights during my visit to Belize. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil, the staff were great, but I personally don't think the lodge offers particularly good value. The rooms are a bit run down, the air conditioning makes everything feel wet, the curtains aren't very effective at blocking light. The lodge has a restaurant too, which is pretty overpriced and portions are very small. I ordered a soup for dinner which was the special of the day, and the portion was so small I genuinely think that they were scraping the bottom. Soup, salad, two entrees, and one soft drink came to $50 USD.

Arriving at the lodge was a bit difficult but once on site it was well worth the price we paid. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. They have a restaurant and a pool which was clean and refreshing. We felt as if we were the only ones on site because it is all tucked away on the hillside within the jungle landscape. The Wifi worked good enough to stay connected with family all throughout the area. The rooms have fans and air conditioners and the hot water was plenty enough for my long shower after touring the country. Taxi services were cheap to get into the downtown area and we felt safe throughout the trip. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to feel like they are staying off the grid with all the creature comforts we like to have.

Staff and service are definitely the highlights if this place. Certainly comfortable, the location is off a part gravel road nestled in the jungle. While you can walk into town it's mostly uphill on the way back and can be dusty from passing cars.

Rooms are at the same level of a basic b&b or European youth hostel. Perfectly comfortable and extremely clean, with some nice touches from the staff, but the walls are thin and you'll hear everything from rain on the tin roof to people next-door and in the corridors (unless you're in a private cabin perhaps).

Food onsite is good but there is no booze provided. The nearest shop on the main road can help augment. Quality and prices of meals are about the same as what one would find in town. Tours are fairly priced with what gets in town so this place makes it easy to arrange everything, but also makes one feel like one is on a full holiday tour. Taxis or a car are really necessary for a bit of freedom.
