Exotic Caye Beach Resort

  The location was great. We didn't have an ocean view like the room description said though. Our view was of the stairs leading up to the rooms on the second floor and of the pool platform. The biggest issue was with the beach at this hotel, as the photos online were very deceiving. There is a cement wall that runs along the whole beach on Ambergris Caye. On the inner side of the wall, the sand was too low causing the water to pool there and there was a bunch of junk in it causing a foul smell. Nowhere else along the beach had this issue except for right in front of this hotel. See attached photos.

  Right on the bech but major construction next to rooms. Do not plan on staying near room during day. Rooms need major renovation. The lock on our sliding door is a padlock and hasp

  The price is very good compared to other places. They have a few rooms that are absolutely horrible but we complained and were upgraded to a brighter, more updated room right next to the water. The place is being torn down in June 2018 to make way for a large popular hotel chain.

  Very impressed. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was always on point and prices were comparable. Highly recommended the Dirty Banana!
