I often use this place as an example of one of the worst hostels in the world. Mainly because the idiot son of the owner was staying in the dorms with his friends at the time and after asking them to quit yelling at 2am and turning the lights on and off he told me (in the most privileged spoiled brat way) that "his dad owns the place so he can do whatever he wants and he will have me kicked out and sleeping on the streets if I have a problem with that." Lovely. Give your money to some locals instead of these rednecks.

Name says it all employees peeking in our private room at 11pm. Unswept nasty room.2 sets of sheets to cover up stains. Used pillow cases. Paid for a.c. but never got it. Fell through the floor in hallway plywood floor thats all busted up. Prepaid for a tour but skipped because we couldnt stay any longer. Seansoned backpacker worldwide here, worst ive seen thus far. Speaking of far, stay far far away from here!!!

Lives up to its name. The room wasn't cleaned in the three days I was there, trash overflowing. Breakfast is very small. Don't plan on using the kitchen. Atmosphere feels like a prison. The only thing it had going for it was comfortable beds and free jungle juice every night.

The staff really made this place, they went out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you have a great time in general on Caye caulker. The facilities were adequate, needs some room updating which you could see was in progress. Free breakfast and rum punch after 7 (loads of rum punch) as well as canoe rentals and great socializing area almost makeup for the needed updates. New kitchen facility opened while I was there. I'd likely stay again next time I'm down and see how the room improvements look.
