Pretty basic accommodations - don't expect washcloths, a place to hang your towel, or a nightstand in your room - but the air conditioning and the Wifi work and the staff is friendly and helpful. A good place if you're looking for something inexpensive, but a little rough and ready.

The Barefoot Caribe bar & grill restaurant located across from the Barefoot hotel was the absolute WORST EXPERIENCE ever in my life that I have encountered in a food establishment! Upon waking down the streets of Caye Caulker we were invited in by what seemed to be nice staff members, boy was I WRONG! After receievjng liquor-less margaritas & bottles of water my 2 friends & I waited 40 mins for our food that was cold & not cooked properly. We explained to the waitress that we would rather not eat there but wanted to pay for the drinks we had already consumed. The waitress apologized for the inconvenience, took the plates from us & took the food back.
15 mins goes by & she doesn't return so we decided to over pay for the drinks & leave to get eatable food as it was already late & we were starving. Upon walking the streets looking for another place to eat we were stopped by local authorities who demanded we return to the restaurant with them, we couldn't understand why as we paid more than enough for the drinks we ordered. Once getting back, authorities as well as the staff tried forcing us to pay for food we ordered but did NOT eat due to the fact that it was not even prepared properly. After arguing back & forth on ethics of how a restaurant should be ran we decide to just pay them so we could GTFO of that horrible place only to be told by staff "we don't want nor need your money" yet they went to the great lentgths of calling the police! By this time we are fed up so we decide to crumble up the $40 Belize dollars & throw it in the tip jar to show it was NEVER about the money! After doing so authorities then abuse power by taking us into the station because we asked "why they were asking for our names & DOB". Last I checked if you were being detained you had to right to know what for. Once getting to the station the head police officer heard our story & released us immediately while wondering why we were even brought in to begin with. This food establishment is TERRIBLE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD!
DO NOT EAT THERE UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING!

It was very nice! The room was large as well as the bathroom. It had a refrigerator and an A/C that worked amazingly!! It's a bargain as well!
