The resort location is awesome. During leisure time one can go for a walk along Riverside. However there are few drawbacks

    1. No power backup - there is no generator or inverter during power cut off. The management is irresponsible - as per the working staff they have repeatedly complained about this situation.

    2. The power sockets inside the rooms are at awful locations.

    3. I felt like they are short of plates to serve food. It was annoying working staff asking for plates in the middle.

Ok resort. Good location, views are scenic. Food does not have varieties for vegetarians. In attempt to make the resort continental, somewhere the Bhutanese willingness to serve has gone down.

It is a nice place , rooms are pretty spacious and service warm. Since it is not in market location, you will have to depend on it for all food needs which is also good if you are ordering Indian and bhutanese. Just be vary of the rate of tea and pakoras- that's on higher side.

The hotel was good, very courteous staff but food options were extremely limited and bad. We chose another restaurant attached to a hotel in the other side of the river for food options

Not Well-Maintained; Untrained Staff; Needs Vast Improvement

While your choice of hotels in Punakha, Bhutan, are limited, do not choose the Khuru Resort. While the lobby appears promising and well-designed, that is virtually the only redeeming quality of the hotel.

Lobby. The lobby is well-designed in a modern manner, yet with traditional touches.

Staffing. The front desk staff are friendly, but not particularly well-trained, so the check-in process can be quite slow. They also have not been trained in how to handle guest problems. When we discovered that the wifi in our room did not work, we called the front desk from the phone in the room, but there was no answer. Therefore, we walked to the lobby to inquire about the wifi, only to be told that they had to fix the router for our room, when, in fact, the router for the entire wing of the hotel where our group was staying was out-of-order. When our tour guide inquired about the situation, he was told that the wifi would be fixed the next morning – it wasn’t fixed during our entire stay. The staff should have just apologized upfront and let us know that we would have to come to the lobby for wifi access. We would have much preferred direct and diplomatic honesty than to be given the “run-around” about the true answer.

Hotel Rooms. The rooms are spacious, but spartan. There is a quite small hot water heater for each room, so we ran out of hot water every time we showered. There was no central heat, so each room had one or two small, individual heaters. Our radiant heater broke and spilled hot oil on the floor, which the maid service did not clean up. The second heater was an electric one that was very loud in operation. The room had two double beds, but only one blanket. The beds were comfortable, and that’s about the only good thing I can say about the hotel room itself.

Food and Beverages. Breakfast is included in most room rates, and the buffet selection was small, but decent. On the second morning, we were the only tour group in the hotel, so a standardized, plated breakfast was served. Overall, the food was adequate, but not overly memorable or tasty.

Overall. I do not recommend the Khuru Resort at all. Poor maintenance, inadequate equipment, and under-trained staff.

Probably the worst resort in Punakha, severe staff shortage , no television & lacks basic cleanliness, foul smell from toilets, they don't flush properly, avoid this resort at any cost

Worst resort experience in bhutan. First and foremost they forgot to place towels in room. The toilet seat was broken, there was no tv in a 3 star hotel neither a wifi. When asked for a bedsheet they replied that they dont have any. The breakfast buffet was all empty by 8:30 ( time was upto 9) & when asked to refill no one actually cared. There is no hotel manager for the resort. When we tried to complain nobody listened. The staff was not even courteous to apologize for the mess. I would recommend never to stay in khuru resort.

Serene place beside a river. Chirping of birds and sound of river flowing makes it exhilarating. Courteous staff, good food, nice rooms.

This is a new place and staff are just learning to accommodate international visitors.

The view from the room is beautiful and would love to come back here
