Good Property.. but the Taste of North Indian food is not that good.. the view is fantastic from the rooms.. worth staying in Punakha.. if u get this view of Dzong n river.
Driving to Punakha in itself was such an amazing experience. And after a drive of about 2 hours from the capital city of Thimphu, when you reach the Zhingkham Resort in Punakha, you are treated to some wonderful hospitality and great views, especially of the Punakha Dzong.
We were told, the Dzong is visible from every room / cottage that's available for the guests which was a great thing to know. Our room was decently spacious, with a small terrace to just go out to and enjoy the view. It was such a lovely stay there. A little thing to note though is that the dining hall is pretty far away if you book a room in one of their buildings starting from 4** or 5**. But even the walk is nice and pleasant, albeit a little steep for people from the plains who aren't really used to climbing up & down much.
Overall though, an amazing place to stay for a couple of days before you move onto your next destination, perhaps towards the gorgeous Paro Valley.
It was okay lah. Why I didn't give 5 star becoz there were a few insects in and outside the room. So people, enjoy your stay!(if you go)
This is an awesome resort I must say. The location is truly awesome. You can spend your whole day just sitting at the balcony of your room. The view is to die for. The restaurant is quite big n has outdoor seating too. It has got a bar as well as spa.
All together had a great time although we were there just for a night. I would recommend this resort apart from any other resort or hotel in Punakha
A new place, only a year old, offers very comfortable rooms, good room service and good vegetarian food. But offers no elevator and you have to climb lots of stairs for the restaurant and reception. But all worth it!
One of the best resort in punakha bhutan i have here for days quit vast good place for self peace ,meditation and good to live free out of routine life
Its overlooking the entire city which is on a valley and its isolated best experiance in bhutan
Lovely modern interior with incredible views. A pleasant 20 mins walk from the bottom. Service is friendly and food variety was sufficient.
Resort is at an altitude with beautiful view of Punaka town. Hotel is very good with courteous staff.
A nice place with bird eye view of punakha dozong, nicely located resort with assigned dedicted personals. Thank you for the warm hospitality.
Very nice and clean , staff and service were perfect , place romantic with great veiw. Recomand when you visit Bhutan.
The hotel location is very nice. You can view the whole valley. You can see the sun rise. However the wifi signal is quite weak if your room happen to be far away from the router.
excellent view, a few issues with the bathroom and the food isn't excellent, but well located
Excellent resort and very new so had the fresh feeling. Rooms are up and restaurant is down so a lot of climb. Food was good and the staff pampered us. ..young girls and boys in the National dress pleasant and smiling.
Very good service. Amazing views. Best in punakha!
This place is located above the small town of Punakha with superb views surrounded by mountains and friendly staff
Even 5 star rating is not enough . This is indeed Zhingkham on earth . Zhingkham means heaven and it is closest to heaven on earth .. must visit place in life time . Everything superb
Stunning views oversee the whole Punaka. You can watch the clouds changing by lying on your bed. However the food in the restaurant will not add your appetite.
Incredible view. Secluded at the top of a hill. However, there are frequent power outages, happening several times a day. Food is passable. The isolated location means that there are no alternatives for food.
Comfortable place to stay. But they had quite a lot of blackouts at night. Perhaps too many people were using appliances at the same time. The food was also average.
The view from this hotel is breathtaking, and a must see in Bhutan. One can walk down to the river in 15-20 mins and enjoy the cold river water. The experience alone is worth the trip.
The staff is very warm and friendly, and even offer nice conversation. There are a lot of friendly dogs and birds, and beautiful flowers you won't get to see in other places, as well. This hotel would be a favorite among nature lovers!
However, the food quality could be improved some more, which is why I'm cutting back by 1 star.
All in all, I love this place and would definitely return for a longer stay!
The view from the rooms are awe inspiring. The rooms are neat and tidy. The rooms have an AC and a fan. Very peaceful and relaxing. The sound of the gushing river can be heard.
Amazing place to stay in Bhutan Country. Beautiful scene of mountains and clouds from bedroom. Good Continental food.
Excellent view of the valley and river confluence.
Very comfortable rooms .The only hotel with AC and fans.
All rooms had a balcony facing the valley
Five-stars simply for its location and remoteness.
This is a gorgeous property located deep inside the town, across the stream flowing by the Punakha Monastery. The views you get here are unparalleled.
The service was nice and the food was quite good as well.
Even though I just came here for lunch, I'd highly recommend a stay here atleast for 1 night.
Did get a chance to check out their rooms, and they did seem quite well kept and clean.
Highly recommended.
Great location on top of a mountain , spectacular view from room , neat and clean environment, neat bathrooms , good restaurant, courteous staff always smiling.
The hotel by itself is ok. It has beautiful views, it is clean, and spacious. However, food was really poor. Every night the same.
Nonetheless, the worst by far was that we booked a room for three people, and they only had two beds. Once we informed them about the situation, they brought a supplementary bed. And this bed was terrible; only a few centimetres, and irregular, placed directly over the floor. It was impossible to sleep there without hurting your back.
We will not repeat because of this.
Amazing hotel with magnificent views on the Fortress and mountains.
Great views of Punakha Dzong. Good rooms with great views. Food was ok. Not great with limited selection. Overall a 4 would have been a 5 with better food selection.
Perched on a hillside with great views down toward the Dzhong. Especially stunning view of the Dzhong at night when it's all lit up! Rooms are clean and pretty decent. Food was your standard Bhutan hotel fare but the bar has probably the best views of all Punakha.
