  One phrase "Great Hotel". I was really happy with the quality of the rooms as well as service at hotel Gakyil. The price of the double bed room was Rs 2500 per night (online booking). The facilities provided were among the best hotels. The location of the hotel is at the center of the city. They serve you complementary green tea on your arrival. I will definitely recommend it if someone stays in Thimphu for a couple of days or so.

  Very close to the city centre and lots of eateries around. ~2kms from immigration office and decently close to tourist attractions. But location is the only positive; room service goes to sleep early, room heaters don't really heat up efficiently, rooms were small and many more reasons just make it an average stay

  Good hotel in the main market place in Thimpu..so if u want to stay close to town and walk around late afternoon, then it is a great hotel. Food was good and staff helpful. Only one lift and way down from 4 th floor was an issue as it was being repaired. Thankfully , by the time we returned it was repaired

  I loved the hospitality, location and the mesmerizing Himalayas that could be viewed from my room. I was staying alone, room and bathroom were spacious, neat and tidy. Restaurant is bit small, breakfast was good, dinner was okay. Do not expect much continental variety, they provide indian cuisine. Location wise it is the best. Plenty of Cafes, mobile recharge shops, souvenir shops are just walk by.

  HOTEL GAKYILL IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MAIN STREET IN THIMPU HAVING MOUNTAINS & GREENERY ALL AROUND BEING IN THE VALLEY -
  AND AN IMPOSING NEAT STRUCTURE HAVING WORKING ELEVATOR.
  ALL FACILITIES LIKE TAXIS & GOVERNMENT OFFICES & SHOPPING MARKET ARE ON WALKING DISTANCE
  HOTEL ROOMS ARE LARGE, VERY NEAT, PROPERLY MAINTAINED & CLEANED REGULARLY.
  THE RESTAURANT IS ON FIRST FLOOR - HAVING GREAT AMBIANCE AND VERY CLEAN . WE FOUND THE VEGETARIAN DISHES( SINCE WE ARE VEG.) UPTO MARK IN TASTE QUANTITY & PRICE. ALL ATTENDANTS ARE VERY POLITE & HELPFUL.
  AS REGARDS THE GENERAL ATTENDANTS LIKE RECEPTION + CALL ATTENDANTS WE NEVER FOUND ANYTHING WANTING . A SPECIAL MENTION ABOUT Ms. CHAMPA WHO WAS VERY HELPFUL IN BOOKING OF ROOM WHEN I TALKED WITH HER FROM MUMBAI(INDIA) & SHE ASSURED ME THAT MY ROOM IS BOOKED INSPITE OF NON- DEPOSIT OF ANY AMOUNT IN HOTEL'S BANK ACCOUNT DUE TO TECHNICAL REASONS. SHE REMOVED MY APPREHENSIONS OF BEING WITHOUT ANY ACCOMMODATION IN THIMPHU.
  IN SHORT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ALL PEOPLE PARTICULARLY FROM INDIA. BHUTANESE & INDIANS ARE BROTHERS BY RELIGION. BHUTAN IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO & EXPLORE FOR AT LEAST 7 TO 10 DAYS & PLEASE DO NOT RESTRICT YOUR VISIT TO MAIN 3 TO 4 PLACES. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO RESTRICTIONS TO INDIANS IN EXPLORING BHUTAN - BUT - BHUTAN IS EXPLORED MORE BY NON-INDIANS.
