A very beautiful place to stay one or two nights. The views are spectacular. I can highly recommend hostal del sol on the most top of the island. But be prepared for a very tough 1 1/2h hike. When going back to Copacabana don't buy the boat ticket from the boleteria. Simply go to a private boat and give them 25bob and you are not in an overcrouded boat.
Nice island. Stunning views. Easy to hike.
Beautiful, friendly people. Fun boat ride to the island.
Great experience, no car, no noise, stay at least one night
Get your boat here. If you have luggage try to rent a donkey
Annoying that no one tells you that you need to pay a 10 Bs. entrance fee onto the island on top of the fee for the boat ride.
Once you arrive on the island, expect a long walk up the steps to the main village and passage to the rest of the island. There are hostels on the shore, but more of the town is located up the hill in the village. It's also much cheaper up the hill than on the shore for accommodations.
Not particularly well advertised when you buy your boat ticket but you are expected to pay an entrance fee once you arrive to the port.
It's not much at the time of writing (10 bolivianos) but if you're a family, expect to pay it per person.
Also, they don't advertise that half of the island is shut down due to a strike so it isn't really worth visiting (apart from the amazing views at the top).
