Nice chain hotel in Ghent. Lovely staff, fully wheelchair accessible rooms and coming areas. Not the most historic building but modern and cosy. Lovely burgers and bar. Ghent is a gorgeous city, well worth spending at least two days or more. Perfect English spoken here.

Worst hotel experience ever. Bad sleep, weak food, extremely slow elevators. Windows can't be opened, A/C too strong. Broken toilet brush has not been replaced (for three days..). Woke up in the morning due to a drilling machine right above my room. At 7am. Nobody stopped that despite our and other guests complaints. I tried to address this whole feedback via the Marriott Ghent internet site, but no form offered, except for the "info@"-mail. Thus, I'm writing it here. This hotel is expensive and absolutely not recommendable.

Great location by the historic stretch along the canals. Lots of restaurants, and activity around all day/night. Boat trips leave right next to the hotel.

Location of hotel is superb, just walk out the back to be treated to fantastic views right in the center of the city. Service was great too, no complaints. The room was fine, although some noise from the bar area did creep into the room through the door, but this was a Sat night, and didnt affect my sleep. One complaint I do have is the bedding. Although the sheets and pillowcases were clean, the bed did smell a little of stale sweat. I didn't realise until I got into bed and didn't complain because my young son was already asleep and it was very late. I'm sure we would have been offered a different room by the great staff, but this 4.5 star review had to be knocked down to a 3. Thank goodness the shower was great in the morning!

An excellent hotel located in the best area in Ghent. My room view was amazing and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly. There is a car parking beneath it. My only suggestion to the hotel is to replace and shorten the bathtub curtain.

This is a gem of the Marriott brand located in the vibrant downtown area overlooking the water. The staff here is outstanding, the rooms were always clean, and the drinks were made to perfection. I highly recommend visiting this hotel if you are in Belgium as this city and hotel offers a one of a kind experience.

Excellent service in this Marriott establishment. The Poppi bar in the lobby is excellent as well. Friendly staff all around, good rooms. Only con I can find is that there should be 'premium movie channels' in the rooms, but those are nowhere to be found on the televisions.

Ghent marriot was an amazing hotel full of charm , our room was amazing over looking the river lovely high beamed ceiling and very spacious. Breakfast was very good nice selection of hot and cold foods and pastries Staff at reception were very helpful overall a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend if staying in ghent

Arrival via auto is a bit tricky but the location of the hotel is outstanding. Rooms are clean and the hotel is well run. Great place to conclude our Euro vacation. Ghent may be under appreciated; the Altar Panels are stunning.

Very nice hotel by the river in the centre of Ghent. Concierge at reception were very polite and helpful they even gave a map with the best places to visit for authentic Belgium beer. The rooms are clean and spacious they provide robes, towels and products. The beds are double and very comfortable. Overall stay was very impressive however we didn't have the breakfast as it's too pricey and their are some lovely bakeries locally

The good: Modern and old architecture meets to create an unexpected masterpiece. Hotel staff is very helpful and forthcoming. Facilities great, tidy and fully equipped. Location is perfect, in the beautiful city center of Ghent.
The bad: Is fairly pricey, so make sure to book early and find good booking deals.response / report this review
