Highest hill in the country! 600+ steps and a pretty great view and breeze on top 👌
Step climb 567 to be exact, fun early morning workout for us.
Excellent views from the top. Worth the 20 minutes it takes
Intense hike. Great views on the top of the haystack.
Hooiberg, scenic and place for locals to get excellent exercise, is also known for its own igneous rock called hooibergiet, easy to spot from its consistent array of peculiar sized crystals. If anyone is up to the challenge, my fastest time climbing (from lower gazebo island at the base, to the radio tower) is 5:14. Try and beat it. Planning on going in the 4’s this summer
Either 569 or 589 steps, take your pic it's deep but the stairs are in good condition. There's a handrail for portions of it. It's not developed at the top, just a bunch of antenna buildings but there's three or four good Lookouts in most directions.
There's more graffiti than on most of the island, but it does appear to be mostly from us tourists. Got to love it when my fellow countrymen are slobs.
A good place to do exercise climb a mountain in Aruba
Is Hooiberg Lookout truly a volcanic formation? Some of the people said there is nothing there to suggest it is a volcanic formation. Since there are very large objects in the rock park, that look like dinosaur fossils, then is it possible that Hooiberg is an ancient tree stump that was chopped down by ancient giant man?
Awesome climb a beautiful view from the top
Great workout take plenty of water. No handrails until your 1/2 way up.
Good climb to the top and easy with good stairs going almost to the top. Some trees and cacti blocking best views at the top. You can see the place from almost everywhere so remember also visit the top :)
Funny and fun little climb. 591 steep stairs, which will most likely make your legs feel like jelly and then quite sore the next day. The top has some good views though most is obscured by acacia, cactus, and the pile of hazardous communication towers. I think the stairs were more constructed for the towers than to be an attraction, there's no signage or anything for this random place.
Quite an exercise to get to the top, but the view is worth it.
Climbing up those stairs was scary but worth it for the views :)
Nice placeeasy to climb up in 20 min because of the stairs! The view is great! BUT at the top a lot of electric cables lay on the ground. Looks not that save
Easy climb, only takes 10-15 minutes to get to the top via the steps. Nice romantic spot to watch the sunset.
