The hotel is simple, clean. Great for a day or two stay.
About 15 mins from Kmart, Coles and eatries (best part).
The receptionist aren't friendly, they look at you like you owe them something. At least they aren't rude (not really a big issue but attitude could improve).
Toilet is small, functional but I would prefer if they was a shower curtain .. Because, after every shower the toilet bowl area is wet.response / report this review -

It's just a cheap hotel. The bed is good enough to sleep comfortable, perhaps the old air con unit maybe will disturb your night. The bathroom is ridiculously small, almost as same than an air plane's could be. The sink is on the bedroom. There are a small table, mini fridge, mirror, TV and few hangers. You can prepare coffee and tea on the room too. Dispute the fact of the negative points, It's just good enough to the price and is far better than a shared hostel's room.

Rooms are small but sufficient for needs. If driving it is excellently positioned, just off the m1, and has plenty of parking. There are a number of fast food restaurants nearby, but public transport is a hassle, being 20 minute walk from nearest train station.

Only give one star because there is not half a star , after staying in hundreds of motels across the country this would have to be the worst I've ever stayed in and to top it off got half way through a good movie and they turned the power off to the tv's , never ever again

Good for the budget conscious and specially if you're not to concerned about extravagance. The toilet was congested and only a person with a max. height of around 5'5" would be able to comfortably shower. Rest is all good.

It's definitely budget. If you need somewhere to stay at the cheapest rate then that's what you'll get. Concrete walls and portable style small bathroom. Only supplied with a very thin quilt. I asked for extra linen as I was cold but they don't offer that. They told me to turn the heater on and wait 20 minutes. The heater barely produced strong heat and was still cold with it going all night. No lift so if you have bags it's difficult walking up the stairs with. Would only go if you definitely can't afford the extra $20-30 a night for somewhere half decent.

If you just want a clean room to sleep in and not much else, this is an OK place to stay.
The main shortcomings are the location (sandwiched in between the very busy Sydney Rd, M80 Fwy and Upfield train line) which makes for some rumbling in the night. It's not too bad, but if you're a light sleeper I can see how it would be a problem.
The toilet and shower are part of a single tiny unit, almost like what you'd find in a caravan, with a raised step to enter and no lock on the door. The sink to wash your hands is outside in the living area. They give you styrofoam cups and a kettle.
There's air con available in all rooms, which is great.
The area is a bit seedy, there were a few weird characters roaming around the building, I suspect using the motel as temporary accommodation. I wouldn't leave valuables in the car unattended, because we saw kids on bikes roaming around there at 1am.
So, yeah. The room is clean but everything else is pretty average. I'd stay here again.response / report this review -

On 16/4/2017, we supposedly check in 1200H and we understand that its T&C as well but we came in at 1045H just would like to enquire some informatiom regards our stay since we passed by the hotel. Unfortunately, the receptionist not even greet or welcome us but gave us a "blurred looked" and told us that "DIDN'T YOU GUYS KNOW THAT YOU ARE 3HOURS EARLIER THAN THE TIME YOU SUPPOSE TO COME"!! Its really dissapointed us and we totally have no mood(embarassing) to enquire since there were some other guest who are having their breakfast. We've been to Ibis budget amsterdam and customer service there were mind blowing, friendly too and thats the reason we choose ibis budget melbourne but seems like demographic factor plays an important role here. I dont mind the room is small but toilet wall is dirty and same goes to the wall near window in our room. Kindly explain to the guest on arrival or put a board when the breakfast will be serve as what did amsterdam staff did becausebwe waited till 0730H then only your breakfast available. Kindly improve effective communication among staff and guest. A smile will change the world. Last but not least, free WiFi only available at my room corridor and not inside the room so we need to bring our phone outside the room or stand near the door to browse internet.
Kindly look into it and improve your service.
Customer orientation is ESSENTIAL for your staff.

They should hire more professional and modest staff for reception. Surprisingly all Indian look receptionists are very nonprofessional and rude in this hotel. I was there 6 nights. They didn't change my bed sheet. Very frustrated. Not going anymore.

Although the Ibis Fawkner is at the intersection of Sydney Rd and the Western Ring Road, the traffic noise was pretty much non existent. The rooms are compact, but the bed is comfortable, air-conditioning/heating available. These units do make a bit of noise, as they are box units not split systems.The room was clean, but the floors were sticky, not sure with what. Towels, coffee, tea, sugar and milk supplied, but only polystyrene cups and plastic spoons. No toiletries supplied, except for small cakes of soap so make sure you take your own. I didn't see an elevator anywhere, just stairs leading to the upper floors. All in all good value for the price
