Sticky carpet and Rock and Roll. Laid back staff and patrons. Absolutely love playing gigs here, and watching bands here. A iconic Melbourne live music venue.

Been heading there to see bands for over 20 years. Still got the best juke box in Melbourne. Love the place.

Great place to go & listen to live music, have a drink and chat with your friends, & especially when there is not too many live music places around any more. If you can get there for a night out you will enjoy yourself.

Almost a Melbourne instution. Lots of punk style music played in the two band rooms. Outdoor area pretty, well, interesting.

Awesome spot for music with many handsome bearded patrons and staff. I hadn't been here since the late 80s - visiting last week brought back all kinds of awesome memories.

Fairly intimate band rooms. Bar and outside area all fairly chill. Casual.

The epicentre of Melbourne's (maybe even the southern hemisphere's?) Rock'n'Roll music scene. Rich history (watch the documentary "Persecution Blues: The Battle For The Tote"), great P.A. and recently a kitchen serving some unhealthy goodness.

Classic rock'n'roll, now with three different areas for live music, as well as a pool table and DJ in the front bar.

Best sounding room for live music in the city. Old Rob Roy round the corner improved too

Love this place! Had an awesome time at the El Riot Festival a couple of months back. Everyone is really awesome, it attracts a great crowd and the staff are really cool.
They put on terrific events with some of the best live bands I've ever seen at ridiculously cheap prices. They even have awesome food! I recommend the nachos.
There should be more places like this. Support the Tote instead of going to some bullshit night club or pub!
