I like this place, there is so much outdoor seating it's so easy to have large groups here. There's a curated style here which is hipster whimsical mariner. If you've got a beard, like boats, working with older things, while enjoying some of the best coffee available you'll like it. It does things like serves chips with mayo and tomato sauce. There is a bit more attention to detail. I like that it uses the Yarra in some parts and then it tucks parts away from others, hiding some rooms. A nice tavern style indoor main area, but with other random cool things like a bocce field. The staff here can vary but with time I've found them to be quite warm and friendly. It would suit all crowds including families.
Great place for either some food or few drinks. Go with the burger, you can't go wrong.
Staff is friendly, service is fast and drinks are good. Much recommended.
Looked like a great place, but very disappointed with the events that ensued. Booked in advance for a group, ordered meals within ten minutes of being seated. Had a later batch of orders ten minutes after that (for the late comers). The second orders came first. Waited. Waited. After enquiring about what happened with the meals in the first order, waitress came with the receipt to verify what meals were missing- clearly the entire first order had been missed. Informed staff unfortunately we had an event after dinner and by that stage needed to be timely. More waiting, by then the peeps whose meals had come had already finished eating. An hour lapsed between delivery of the first meals to the appearance of the missed meals, which was unfortunately too late because we had to leave for the event. Went to cancel the orders that had not appeared and to pay for the ones that had. Later waitress came over and apologised, and said management wanted to refund the table. Later that was revoked and was told no, there won 't be a refund. ???. Clearly there were major breakdowns in communication, which happens, fair enough. But really, I'm not going to want to return to a business that disappointed me and tell us they're going to deliver one thing (refund?) then go back on their word.
Service was good. Staff do not understand what over- medium is, egg was completely uncooked in places. Good bread to egg ratio. Slab bacon was delicious and cooked perfectly, but can't say the same for the chorizo which had nice char lines on the outside but was cold and uncooked in the middle. For a breakfast coffee, the latte was way too hot.
$10 gets you 28ml of spirits carefully prepoured with Pepsi (not coke cause most places use Pepsi). So now you know, that's what this is.
Came for breakfast AND dinner -- it was that good. Breakfast: fantastic coffee with friendly staff who were understanding of my child's allergies. The tater tots were delicious, even for me! Dinner is more of a bar scene. We still came with the kids but it's a little loud and much more raucous. But it was lovely to have wine and good food. Reasonably extensive alcohol selection. And the staff are still friendly and helpful.
Please don't list traditional lemonade on the menu then serve what tastes like mineral water and cordial.
Lovely setting, average service. Ordered bacon received spinach, mix ups happen but was questioned if I had ordered bacon only to find we had received the next tables order and they ours. Not an awful experience, good coffee.
Great for just a drink, just coffee or a full meal. Right on the Yarra. Lots of seating options. Great service. Really good chips!
Good atmosphere, good food (not too expensive) and an ok range of beers. Would recommend for a work outing, or simply a late summer evening escape for a few drinks and a nosh in summer.
I've walked past many times but decided to stop in for lunch. Such a fantastic location on the waterfront with lots of shady trees and plenty of seating. I had the soft shell crab burger which was delicious along with a pint of beer. The atmosphere was great and I'll definitely be back.
Great place for drinks after work especially in summer or autumn. right on the river. Food is good but a bit pricey.
Passed the Boatbuilders Yard on a walk along the Wharf. We walked in about brunch time and it was fairly busy and waited about 30 minutes for our breakfast.
Being an open area (although we sat undercover) it can be a little muggy depending on the season you visit.
Breakfast was better than most places. The eggs and tots serving size is fit for two people. What's could be better than having eggs with a side of potato gems first thing in the morning?
A great spot to sit outside and grab a beer. There's plenty of room so even if it's super busy you're definitely going to get a place to sit. They have a pretty great beer selection and the only that would make it better would be table service!
