Sad, dry Sorrento Beach Shack "poke bowl"
- seared, brown tuna
- kale
- shaved carrots
- edamame beans still in pod
- pickled ginger
- hard rice
- sliced cucumber
- ranch sauce in a plate
- seaweed salad
We only ate the cucumbers and seaweed salad.. :'( I think even the waiter was embarrassed to bring it out to us..
Had breakfast here with a friend yesterday and while the smashed avocado was really tasty, I was surprised and disappointed that it only came with 1 poached egg for 2 pieces of toast. At a cost of $22, it’s one of the more expensive versions I’ve had, so surely they give 2 eggs. Unlikely to return any time soon.
Booked with a Scoupon. Lamb shanks, Tuna and Salmon main courses were not available. Meals provided were so disappointing - raw kale for salad and re heated dry fish substituted for Tuna. Wine was the cheapest sweetest wine available! We were told the restaurant had to stay open for us when we arrived 8pm - closing time is advertised 8.30pm. The waitress was extremely pleasant and apologetic but unfortunately I can not recommend.
We walked in and we were told that they had run out of the salmon and lamb shanks. We ordered our meals and waited a good 20-30mins for our drinks even though there weren't many people eating at the time. We ordered two roast dinners, one with mint sauce and the other with horse radish sour cream. Both came out without any sauce because they had run out of both. We weren't told when we ordered. The waitress told us that we were lucky to be given the option of ordering the roast dinners because it was lunch time. I won't be coming back again and I suggest you do the same.
This is such a cute and kid friendly cafe! Would recommend to anyone, whether you have kids or not! Good feeds ❤
Extremely disappointed. The quality of service and food has absolutely plummeted in the last few months. We waited over an hour between getting our drinks and half of the tables meals which were cold. We then had to ask for the remaining meals which also came out cold which was also advised to us by the staff member serving the table. When we questioned why they were cold the staff offered to microwave the meals. Not good enough for an $18 meal to be honest. 0/10 would not recommend at all.
Went for breakfast and was shocked how empty it was, it's been a while since I was last there but this time around I was so very disappointed at the standard of food.how do you mess up eggs beni and corn fritters, if you don't know how ask the beach shack..the corn fritters were dry, teasteless and felt it was made a couple of days before. eggs beni was nice but the bread it was served on was a cheap bun from a supermarket. I also I asked for a side of hash browns and I got one which cost me $4 which was from the freezer again from a supermarket..the chef should be absolutely disgusted with what he served us today and we will never go back to the beach shack again plus the cost was at the high end of the scale, you expect good quality fresh food if paying a higher price, not old stale frozen food.
I agree with other comments, there must be new management or owners because the fritters have been the worst breakfast I have ever had and we go out every Sunday morning.
must be under new management, menu has been cut back, only one steak option and the Bearnaise sauce tasted like margarine with dill, and salad was appalling. all drinks changed to organic no name brand (where is the coke and fanta!!) and kids menu was disappointing.
Love the healthy choices. Service is always great
Must be either new owners or chef. Ordered the steak with onion rings, chips and salad. .onion rings burnt offerings, peppercorn sauce was like water, and the steak was a small piece of grizzle worst $35 ive spent. Such a shame at one time you couldnt fault the food.
Been around for years! Always hip, always good food! I even worked here once and the staff was really good! :)
