Not good. Popped in as it's the local for a lunch at 12 midweek, place was virtually empty so service would be good..not so.
Bar staff (1 on duty) had a bad attitude, no smile, no can I help you, just glared as if to to say what do you want!
Order a beer and food and thought everyone has an off moment.
When the buzzer advised me food was ready I go to the bar and asked the miserable bar person where do I collect my food only to get a mouthful that she is the only one working and she is busy I would have to wait. After 7 mins food finally arrived, a fillet steak, looking forward to this. OMG, slightly warm as it had been sat in the kitchen for a while due to busy bar staff (1 person with only me in the place?) steak covered and I mean covered in sauce, not even sure it was steak to look at but oh well tuck in. Can't taste the steak due to lashings of sauce over it, warm and every mouthful full of fat.not going so well. Ok, onto the greasy chips or cardboard salad.mmmmm. When said plate was collected by very busy bar staff(1 person) with me and one other now filling the place, no how was your meal, did you enjoy that, can I get you something else, just another glare a look down at my uneaten meal and a sigh or huff, not sure which. Got the impression that work was stopping her from doing something else she would much rather do and we (me and one other customer) were getting in the way!
So in summary, for bad attitude, cold food, greasy chips, meat you can't taste, a plate of fat pretending to be a juicy steak, and an overall under whelming experience this is the place to go. Delusions of adequacy spring to mind.

Quality pub grub (seriously good) and a friendly atmosphere. Regular functions and serves a good pint (the taps are well maintained).

When I was an impressionable 13 year old I recall drinking Guinness in the Frenchman's Alms at Throckley bank top. It never occurred to me that I would one day be sat in a pub on the far side of the world washing down chocolate brownie desert with said beer after a delicious salmon main. Just goes to show life's strange but good food and drink are everywhere - just sayin'

Friendly and helpful staff (great for when you're in need of a little help after a few too many..). Lively croud/locals and live music is good too.

We have been to the Cornerstone many times. I am unsure why we keep coming back. The servers are indifferent and I sometimes feel like I have put them out for asking for something. We have been there lots of times but staff never greet us, instead we get " table for two". Food at best is mediocre and takes a long time to be served. I have in the past ordered two drinks as it takes so long to get a drink. I was told the last time that they had to go to the bar for orange. We live locally and want to support local businesses and the employment of our people. The reason I am writing this review is in the hope that the management try to understand the issues and resolve the issues. One of the male wait staff makes you feel so uncomfortable that my wife hopes that he doesn't come to take my order. Cornerstone take some time to see how other bars and restaurants in the area make you feel very welcome and are appreciative of your business. There are lots of other options, would love to give the cornerstone another chance but unless things change then you don't deserve my business.

The place looks like quite nice but sorry the pic of the ashtray full of smokes is not very appealing! The person who does your marketing should have a good think about what attracts customers. I certainly won't be coming to your hotel.

Nice venue, well priced, friendly enough staff. Food was ok for what you pay; Salmon could of at least been cooked properly. Overall nice, but average.

The atmosphere is OK and do is the food. However the biggest let down of this place is its selection of beers they servejust stock standard tasteless beers.
